This is place is just too cool for school. No, seriously. From the minute you walk in and are blasted with the strains of whatever they plucked off the soundtrack from Sirius' Alt Nation station to the crazy tattooed lady/tiki/dragon/otherwise weird and obscure mural on the wall, it is all designed for a hipster/millenial (did I just use that word?!?) crowd. Hipster menu, too. Small plates mostly, and some strange decisions. Mostly OK, but please: do not create a "signature" dish on your menu, such as your spin on Pad Thai, unless it does not suck. Sadly, the Pad Thai was a huge disappointment. The real star that we sampled was the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower app -- which had bacon in it. Even if the bacon wasn't in there, it would've been the best thing we ate there. Were I 20 years younger, bedecked with arm-sleeve tattoos, and big on style over substance -- I think I'd love this place. As things are, I dig really good food primarily and will go with Yelp's appraisal: "A-OK."

Had high hopes for this place as many people posted good reviews. The noodles were bland and priced at $17, I'd consider a rip off. Looking for a good Asian place with good noodle soup...this is not it.

I've eaten here 3-4 times already, and I think this is place is great. I highly recommend the Vietnamese wings and the pulled pork buns as appetizers or small plates, and the crispy beef for dinner. Most recently I ordered their salmon entrée and they blew me away by asking how I wanted it cooked! Even though I love salmon in all its forms (even when it's dry) I do prefer it to be cooked just until it flakes in the middle. I relayed as much and the kitchen delivered! Oh, and the cheesecake spring rolls they serve are delicious - just give the molten filling time to cool a bit.

this place absolutely sucks. the food what really bad and expensive. the service really bad and the noise lever was very loud. not really recommending it as a family restaurant. took about and hour to get our food and even than the rice was cold and the meat was under cooked.

We stopped here and had a wonderful shrimp udon and wok smoked edamame. The broth was delicate and true with out fake flavors or over salting . Kimchee slaw in broth w monster breaded shrimp. We loved the music but some may find it loud. Good bar inside as well as outside stools. X cocktail menu full bar w exciting far out choices. Reposado jalapeño margarita??! Avoid the steamed buns unless you like a thick soft bread folded like sliders over filling- I will take a pass next time. There is a lot of flavor in the food n well worth the Mizner parking dance.

I liked the atmosphere but it was a little too pricey. We only had the Korean sliders, edamame and house hot sake. The hot sake was great. The Korean sliders were tasty but had no Korean flavor whatsoever. They did warn us that it was fusion so that it wasn't going to be the traditional Asian flavor. The wok charred edamame were too salty, we couldn't finish the ones at the end of the bowl. Overall a pretty cool place to go hang out, drink and have some appetizers.

I met a friend for happy hour last week. The small plate pricing and 1/2 off beer made this a great choice in Mizner. The brussels sprouts were incredible! The Korean BBQ were good, not great. The beer selection is pretty good. I enjoyed a glass of Hennepin. I'll definitely be back to try some new plates!

After reading so many over the top reviews I had to try this place. At home I studied the menu on the website and prepared to sample a wide variety of dishes from all over the menu. The highlight was the staff. Extremely friendly and service is very good. The food was so disappointing. Yes, I was shocked. But as dish after dish came out of the kitchen each was just as unremarkable as the one before it. I wanted to love this place but it did not happen.

Ate lunch here on a whim, very solid 4. Good food & drinks (I waited too long to do the review to remember exactly what I had), and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service.

I was there for lunch today. Ordered the pad thai. It was okay, I've had better and I've had worse too. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of vegetables. The pad thai consisted of noodles, cilantro, peanuts, sauce and eggs. No broccoli, mushrooms, cabbage, carrots, red pepper or even scallions. If you don't mind a little constipation with your pad thai, order this! Otherwise, see what else is on the menu.

This place has been my home away from home since I moved down here two years ago. Kapow is still one of about 3 places in Boca that I will actually miss. It is an oasis of cool, interesting people in a sea of... Well Boca people. There is a growing community in this town that appreciates a creative cocktail menu, a limited release draft selection, and an inventive menu. This place is great. The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is that is sometimes struggles with consistency. When the A team is on there is no where I'd rather be.

I have gone to Kapow numerous times in the past two years and every time I go, it gets better and better. Their menu is creative and has so many interesting things. I wish I could order everything. With the cheap prices of their small plates, you can try so many things. My favorites are the crispy chicken skins, bulgogi street tacos and vanilla cheesecake spring rolls. Anything with skirt steak on the menu is to die for. If you want a good deal, Tuesday is $1 steamed buns night. Too good to pass up. Service is great as well. Shout out to Christi! Even if the food were only decent, me and my girls would still come back because of all the hot male workers there. Not joking. If you want awesome food, good service and an evening of previewing males that are too hot to handle, Kapow is the place to go to!

I found out about this place from the New Times Magazine. They ranked it as the best place for noodles and they are right! This is not your average Ramen. The inside has a industrial feel to it with a huge colorful mural on one wall. The staff are dressed casual in jeans & a screen printed shirt - but very professional and friendly. Portions here are large & they have a impressive selection of wine, sake, and ale. I had the Veggie dumplings, beef ramen, and cheesecake spring rolls. All of them were amazing and as delicious as they looked. If your ever in the Boca area - you must check this place out.

Kapow is a fun environment and mighty tasty. It has funk and flair and the food is amazing. They recently had a promotion in June to celebrate an award for their amazing Asian Style Fried Chicken Wings which were free with an entree. I split the pulled pork ramen which was divine and authentic and had a Happy Hour $2 can of Sapporo. I came back during the same month and had their Pad Thai which was a massive portion but American and bland, too much rice and noodles. The staff is really friendly and know their stuff but the bar stools are mad uncomfortable and seating can be limited during high season; make reservations.

Had a fantastic time at Kapow. We had the edamame, ramen (beef and chicken) as well as the bulgogi street tacos. Everything was great but the street tacos stole the show. Sweetness from the marinade on the beef plus a little heat, crunch and saltiness from the sauce and cabbage... an awesome bite. I also would choose the beef ramen over the chicken though both were great. Liam the bartender was extremely helpful and friendly. Dig this place. Will be back.

Worst Cocktail Ever! This review is basically about this one drink and the failure of the staff to recognize the fact that I hated it. I didn't eat. I just sat at the outside portion of the bar and had a Guinness and this one drink called the Austin Mule. The cocktail is made with Titos Vodka, lime, lemon, ginger, simple syrup, soda water, and a mint sprig. What drew me to this drink was the fact it was served in a copper grog. I'm a sucker for odd mugs etc... Our bartender was Brett and he was pretty informative and friendly. He gave me the history of this drink and he had me sold to try it. So I get it and it looks cool as $hit in the copper grog. I take a nice big sip........WTF this tastes like I just drank a cup of F'ing lime juice. It's horrible. So I tell Brett it's too sour and that it needs more simple syrup. He proceeds to tell me that's the way it's made and he could add more soda water if I wanted. I immediately say, yes! He adds more soda water and it still tastes like sour $hit. Again I bitched about the drink, but to no avail I was stuck with it. Now I ask you, at what point should the server alter the drink to my liking or ask me if I would like to try something else? What pisses me off is I sat there with puckered lips and a sour puss face.....I'm sorry but that's bull$hit. I rarely call out a server but this deserves it. For the first time in decades I left a FULL drink on a bar and left. I'm usually pretty positive in my reviews but for a ten buck drink if I don't like it you should give me a damn new one, add more simple syrup or take it off my bill. That's called good service. Trust me its not like Brett was a bad guy because he wasn't. Just take care of your customers needs., plain and simple. As for the restaurant it's real hip with a cool painting on the wall and the menu is right up my alley with the ramen noodle dishes. At some point I'll go back but I'm not recommending this place as of now. Stay Sour, cause I did:(

With all the high reviews, high impact name, and what seems to be an inspired menu - I expected my meal experience to be Kapow! explosion of flavor, but I must say I was very disappointed! I had the edamame, which was flavorful, but messy. B+ And the mushroom buns. The texture of the bun was what a cross between pita and rice noodles and not very flavorful. The mushrooms themselves were good, but not great. I put a lot more of the sweet soy sauce and some hot sauce on it to add flavor. Also, the plate is two buns - which is stingy. This plate should either be served with a side item or a third bun. C Our server was really nice and the place has an exciting comic book inspired vibe - unfortunately, the food was not equally inspired. Good effort, but needs improvement.

Steak Pad Thai was good, BUT everything else was just OK. This is one of those restaurants that you don't dislike but won't go back especially with the surrounding selection of restaurants.

Went here with a friend visiting from out of town....was so hoping it would be a tasty and memorable experience and it was! We came on an evening when they were hosting a yelp event (that we weren't actually participating in/elites only) and it was super crowded so it was delightfully surprising that we were seated quickly. We went on a Tuesday and were advised that their Asian "buns" were (I think) $1/piece.....so so so good. I've been obsessed with these kind of fluffy buns since discovering them at Gigi's in Miami (also a rad restaurant). We had both the pulled pork AND mushroom buns....both yummy. We order some street tacos as well....the insides were good but the actual taco shell was a little gummy and unflavorful. We ordered their poke....................if I hadn't just been to Hawaii and had the real deal I might've enjoyed this more. It wasn't bad, just bland. The charred brussel sprout/cauliflower app was delish especially with a lil sriracha on the side. Our server (I believe her name was Christina?) Was prompt, friendly and honest in her suggestions. We finished with the cheesecake spring rolls. They were basically churros filled with cheesecake, served with a caramel sauce on the side for dipping. Wonderful. Small portion but if you do dinner right, you likely won't have room for more by the time dessert rolls round. Fun, youthful atmosphere....just wish it wasn't in Boca :/

I like this place. The decor is pretty cool, the service has always been great, and I have yet to try something I don't like. The stuffed peppers have been my favorite since my friend and I would randomly find a spicy one (I don't like spicy) and hilarity would ensue. I've always had a great experience, and everyone I've brought here has enjoyed it as well. Great place :)

This place in incredible. The steak Pad Thai is the best I have ever had - I usually order one to go so I can have it the next day. I honestly have never had anything I didn't like here and the service is awesome

Oh Kapow!! What a great spot. Excellent, knowledgeable service, lovely cocktails, and the edamame. All I can say is thank you. It was delish! I highly recommend the skirt steak. Savory, great texture, and the presentation is excellent. The red curry shrimp is well prepared. The Korean sliders were okay, but a little light on flavor in my opinion, and required a sauce to enhance it.

Tasty noodles, craft beer on tap, awesome appetizers and some creative mixed drinks. Ask for Tammy-- she's a great waitress and is loads of fun to chat with. Happy hour is great-- small plates at small prices. Check out the daily specials, as you'll find something amazing almost every time. No frills Asian Fusion is what they've got here, and they're good at it.

I came back here for a late night dinner with my husband and it was very enjoyable. I am totally sold on the smoke n ginger cocktail and hubby had a very tasty take on an old fashioned. We got the Brussels spouts again and split an order of pad thai. I was impressed with the chicken in it. It was perfectly grilled and moist.

I don't get it why there are so many good reviews for this place. We went there because of the reviews on Yelp, but I didn't think the food was that great. The 3 star rating is only cause our waiter was great! I could probably make a much better Chicken Noodle Soup at home. Will def not be back!

I have been here twice before but just haven't remembered to review.mOn first visit I had the steamed pork buns which were delicious but either the serving size was too small (2 buns) or I was just really hungry but it was definitely not enough so I also ordered their sweet potato fries which was delicious and definitely enough. On this visit I had the pad Thai which was so-so, it was mixed with chicken and tofu of which the chicken but not the tofu tasted good. It came with a side sauce which was horrible, lucky I tested it before putting it on. Their customer service has been excellent both times, drinks and food arriving promptly and the bartenders are always friendly and willing to recommend a drink. The drinks I had were Mom's Calling (gin, simple syrup and cucumber mix) and a blueberry lavender mojito (couldn't taste the lavender at all) which both were pretty good but not great. Only complaint I can make is that their cocktails seem overpriced at $12 for what they are considering we went at happy hour. All in all it was ok but probably won't go there again.

I use to like coming here, never a fan of the food, but I liked the atmosphere. I need a reservation for 10 the other night and last minute a few canceled. 15 minutes after time of reservation the hostess and manager kept giving us rude looks and saying that they need to take back the tables. probably won't ever come back because of that.

  • Sheila F.

Compared to Thai and Asian food I'm used to, the Pad Thai and pork ramen were poor. Pad Thai was boiled chicken slices and egg atop sprouts with no noodles, peanuts or vegetables. The ramen broth was plain salty soy sauce with bland pulled pork. An appetizer of mussels was excellent and a large enough portion for two which was a pleasure since the other two were not enjoyable. The service was very good and the atmosphere was OK but if you are used to delicious Asian food, you'll be disappointed.

  • Crissie L.

We finally tried eating here and we loved it! We had the mussels which were excellent, I could have drank the broth!! For my entree I had the curry shrimp, I don't typically eat spicy food, but it was really quite good. The wait staff was excellent and they all kind of work together to ensure you have everything you need but we still had our main waiter, Gali. Gali was very knowledgable on everything from beers, wines and suggested his favorite menu items. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I did not enjoy the inside seating that was so close to the next table. Next time I'll request to sit outside. Def will be going again!

  • Christina S.

Just ok. Some things were very good, but other items offset. Asparagus tempura good but very pricey for a few pieces. We asked for several items we saw posted on yelp, but most were unavailable including Smores dessert. Drinks were full of ice and pricey for $10 each. Mojito was good but Jalepeno margarita was horrible. I can't imagine the bartender or the manager has tried this drink anytime in the recent past or they would not serve it. If they had drank the entire thing, they would have had their stomach pumped and would have remembered it. Flank steak was very good but Pad Thai was nothing special.

Great happy hour specials! The special includes $4 small plates and half off drinks. The great thing about the meal prices is that you are able to sample an array of them. You must try the pulled pork sliders, the wonton empanadas, and the sweet potato fries. The staff is also very friendly and attentive, even while being busy during happy hour.

I absolutely love this place and can't wait to go back. Our server was very helpful and attentive with us and the menu. He made several suggestions, including the scallops which was a special for that night and were delicious! We also ordered a few happy hour items, the edamame, crispy chicken skins, and the sweet potato fries, everything was very yummy.

The noodles were fantastic!!! My wife had the Pad Thai. It was okay, but she would probably try something different next time. The service was fantastic and you didn't feel as though you had to be dressed up. Being from Oregon, this felt very much like Portland to me! We'll be back soon!!!!

Came here for an early dinner for the first time, and was expecting to be blown away, but it was just okay. Service was excellent, decor and atmosphere was pretty cool, but their signature dish - pad Thai - was over cooked and bland. The pork buns were delicious, and I could have made an entire meal out of them. Got a craft cocktail -thanks yelp check-in!! - a spicy margarita that kicked my butt. Awesome! I'll probably come back for drinks and small bites, and leave the main dishes for other yelpers to review.

Went here on a Friday night and got seated right away which is good. Since becoming vegetarian, I noticed my options were limited. I'm not sure if many of their options can be vegetarianized but I ended up going with the edamame which was good, sweet potato fries and vegetable dumplings. All tasted good and were all filling. Their creme brulee was SO good. I definitely would recommend that.

This place is great! You might miss it if you walk too fast! But BOOM! We started with their Chicken Skins, Brussel Sprouts & Bacon, Ahi Poke, and Hamachi Sashimi, Kimchee Buns.... Oh Lawd, that was a great start! I had their Chicken Pad Thai, and it was phenomenal! The sauce they serve on the side is the winner, YOU HAVE to mix the chilli Pepper sauce with the Pad Thai!!! Since I checked-in with yelp, yelp prompted a 10% off the entire menu! How awesome! Our waiter was OK, seemed nervous, but good none the less, he knew everything on the menu! I would definitely recommend this place!!!

I went with a fellow Yelper to check this place out. I had not heard of it before until she told me about the group of them going. I figured it would be a fun time and the food sounded very good after looking at what they had to offer on their Website. I was pleasantly surprised when we checked in and received a 10% discount as well as the fact that we made it for happy hour. The nice thing is they have a special happy hour menu. This was great because you could get many different things to sample as most of the items were $3-4 and half of certain wine and drinks! This is great if you just want to have a Little nosh or give something a try. I enjoyed very much the edamame and the steam shrimp dumplings. I would highly suggest the edamame for any one who loves it. Kapaow prepares it differently. it is wok seared which gives it almost a fire roasted taste and the seasoning is amazing. I could eat it all day long! I didn't order an entree however the food looked absolutely amazing. The Chilean Sea bass dish was beautiful and the shrimp ramen noodles looked just as good. I think i would have a hard time choosing what to pick. If you are looking for something different to drink i would suggest the Dark and Stormy. I tried this from a fellow yelper . This ginger beer, rum and lime is sure to give you taste buds a party in your mouth. It is crisp and refreshing! It might just become my new favorite drink. The service was great and quite fast. the place is a little bit small and can be a little loud for a large group of people if you are sitting inside. They do have some seating on the other side of the bar area which is outside. Overall I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Kapow to anyone and will most certainly be going back.

I was so excited to try this place, especially based on the high overall rating, only to be super disappointed. Kapow has such great potential - the really cool decor and furnishings are a great start. The Asian food market down here is so sorely lacking that Kapow could've easily blown it away, however they'll need to take a closer look at their recipes and flavors (food AND drinks) if they want to get there. Of the items we tried: An unmemorable specialty mojito that tasted like water shaken with mint leaves.. was there any alcohol in there? Edamame - had some flavor to it, but if you mess up edamame, you should probably be shut down Roasted cauliflower & brussel sprouts - the most flavorful dish of the night, the bacon and citrus balsamic gave just the right amount of kick Beet & peach tea cured salmon - tasted like watered down salmon, did not detect any other flavors, only the longan berry (like lychee) and the fried basil were good Bulgogi Beef Street Tacos - these were actually okay, but honestly I was so disappointed by everything else I can't even remember what these tasted like Two of us at the table ordered ramen (chicken and beef) and one ordered pad thai. Now, when you are a noodle bar and you can't do your noodles right, you're automatically in trouble. The pad thai was bland and the ramen had no flavor AT ALL. If they had served it with the water the ramen had been cooked in there would've been more flavor. It's as if they cooked the ramen, poured the cooking water out, and then served it to us in a bowl of water from the tap. We tried mixing with the hoisin and plum sauces they had at the table to no avail. When I asked for salt and pepper "because the noodles have no flavor at all," the server simply brought salt and pepper and walked away -- no higher thought as to, "hmm, this person is being very clear that there is a problem with the food, maybe we should address that." Needless to say, we did not stick around for dessert.

Ah, what a pleasant and cool experience. The decor and style of the place is top-notch. Even the bathroom is freakin' cool. Comic book ninjas line the walls and the must-have of all hip joints... you pee on ice. But let's get to the important stuff! The waiter was very helpful, attentive and nice. The manager (owner?) kept passing by making sure all was well with us. The Pork Gyoza was outstanding. The coconut mussels and Vietnamese wings were good. The drinks were very creative and delicious. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu. If it is as good as the dumplings, I may have to add a star.

This place is great! I've been here twice and had the Bonmi sandwich and chicken noodles. It was actually my first bonmi and I'm not sure why I waited so long to try it. The sesame fries that come with it where great as well. The noodles were super good even though it was a warm summers day. I can imagine these being so good outside in the cold. :D Service is nice, friendly, and quick as well. I would definitely recommend this place!

My wife and I found this spot while searching for a ramen place during a trip to Ft Lauderdale. We've done this before, and this was definitely the winner to date. Lets start with the happy hour - awesome for tapas style small plates, with portions that will surprise you. The wok edamame is fantastic - super smokey, you get a ton of them, and they are free with the yelp check in. There were a ton of other 4 dollar HH specials; wok crisped cauliflower and brussel sprouts with pork was great; the peppers stuffed with cheese were a stand out and you get a ton of them as well. The crispy chicken skin was a miss (please know - I'm am not an expert in everything, however poultry skin is one of my fortes) they could have trimmed it better and crisped more delicately. The HH drink specials are great unless you want to dive into their house cocktail menu (which is exactly what we did) - which is as pricey (11-13 per drink) as it is creative and purposefully executed - I would have tried literally every drink on their menu if driving obliterated wasn't the dumbest thing anyone can do. We both finished with the ramen (chicken and beef) - the protein were surprises, and overall the ramen was pretty damn good. Noodles were on point, broths stood apart from each other, and vegetables were fresh. Bowls they came in were kind of strange shaped, obviously a critical note. To top everything off, our server (Amy, i think) was outstanding. she made every effort to make our experience what it was, and her attentiveness and interactiveness were more than appreciated. In the end, we left with a lot of food, which got destroyed after some late night Stella's. if you are looking for a cool, contemporary spun ramen bar, especially for HH, give this place a shot. If I lived here I'd be a regular.

Don't come here to celebrate a birthday. Today was my Mom's 76th bday, and after our meal, we had ordered a dessert to sing happy birthday. Well, the dessert arrived, and the waiter said "here, happy birthday", and plopped the dessert on the table. I asked if he had a candle, and he said "yea, I'll get you one." About 5 minutes later, the lit candle arrived burning atop a bowl of cooked rice. A sad, terrible presentation. We were all disappointed, and quite shocked that a restaurant of this calibre doesn't train its staff for such common celebrations.

Not sure about the other items on the menu, but the chicken fried rice is bomb. Cool spot since it is right next to the Dubliner. Good crowds, pretty people, and awesome location. I'm in...

Best happy specials in all of south Florida! Their charred edamame is amazing! Only reason it's not 5 stars is outside of happyhour it can be quite expensive to drink and eat at, but the food is well worth the price!

What the hostess lacked in customer service, the waiter/bartender made up for it. A lot of unique items on the menu. The ramen was just ok, but the chicken skin and wings were really good. Overall it has a good vibe and good pupus

Cool looking place. Being Asian I was disappointed in the soup I had. It was very bland. However I'm willing to go back and try other items. If I'm disappointed the 2nd time around I'll change it to once star. Until then, they get 2 stars for effort at least.

I'm pretty sure I melted into dessert oblivion after my first bite of the cheesecake spring roll (I'm drooling just writing about it). I have been there 3 times now...once for dinner with the fam, once for drinks with friends, and once for New Year's Eve (an incredibly reasonable 30 dollar 3 course meal + champagne). So far, besides the cheesecake spring roll of course, the pork belly ramen, duck buns, and ginger mojito have been my best choices. My only complaint is that the laksa was way too creamy and heavy. Overall, I think this is a great place to grab drinks with friends. Grab a soup, split some buns, order several cocktails, and enjoy the amazing playlist and eclectic mural.

This place was a nice break in Mizner from the "older crowd" that usually frequents all the nearby eateries. The décor is pretty cool... The artwork is nice and the layout makes good use of a small space. There is also outdoor seating which is always nice living in south Florida. Overall, it has a great atmosphere. Great people watching here! We sampled the duck confit steamed buns, the tongue, rock shrimp tempura, beef tartare, and the edamame...everything was delicious. The chicken fried rice was moist without feeling greasy. The craft beer selection was also pretty solid. The staff looked like they were enjoying themselves and very friendly. Our waiter tried his best to describe why certain items were paired with the sides they came with... he was really young. But I appreciated that he cared so much about his work and was so enthusiastic when it came to sharing his knowledge of craft beers. Overall the prices were reasonable. They apparently have quite a few specials throughout the week including food and drink happy hour prices. I'll try to come back for the fancy drinks, which seem to have great reviews here on yelp.

Great food in a very cozy atmosphere. Friendly, casual, and relaxed. Personally I think the skirt steak is amazing. You just have to try it for yourself. I have been there several times now and continue to be impressed with the food and the service. Oh, and they have some great cocktails that will knock your flip flops off.

Went here on the past Friday I'm Asian to me the food wasn't all that great for the price I paid for everything. Ordered mussels, Vietnamese wings, the steak dinner and the steak ramen. Steak was very nice and tender. I checked in on yelp which gave me a free edamame which I also showed our waiter and added to our order. He charged us for it on our bill. I was already dissatisfied so we paid for it not complaining. The waiter with long curly hair sucks very disorganized and disorientated never came and check if the food was okay or if we needed refills on our minty ice tea that we wasn't fawned on

First time here and loved it. Much better than anticipated. Cool, unique decor. We got the tempura asparagus (texture of asparagus and tempura were perfect, sauces were yummy), maitake mushroom steamed buns, red curry shrimp (a little spicy if you do not have a high spice tolerance), and vanilla cheesecake spring rolls (banana caramel sauce was off the chain). Each was better than the last. Our server was awesome- was fast and checked on us frequently, and always refilled our waters. Got the Yelp deal ($10 for $20 - had to purchase on full site on phone, app kept crashing over multiple tries).

Hey, Kapow. I'm GLAD you're not in Miami. Seriously. Stay in Boca. Venture a couple more county lines over, why don't you? Go and procreate over into Hendry county, or something. (Note: Who the f*ck lives in Hendry county anyway?) Because what I'm trying to say here is.... I love you. In an unhealthy, could-unravel-into-a-court-restraining-order kind of love. Yours is the kind of comfortable, yet oh-so stylishly cool digs I see myself spending every Friday/Saturday night in. Cozy, without being quaint. Edgy, without trying to hard. An Asian gastropub that hits all the right notes in my heart. Your brussel sprouts and cauliflower tossed in soy? Sweet crispy morsels that make me WANT to eat my greens. Your tuna tataki? Fresh and tantalizing. Like a spring breeze, or some other romantic shit like that. My entree of scallops in green curry with lychee and rice? Makes me want to slap my mother, it's so damn good! No chintzing around on portions either. It's easy to sell short a customer with tiny, sad rubbery scallops. None of that is happening here. These suckers are tender and huge. Like Stay-Puft Marshmallows of the sea. And let's talk cocktails, shall we? Because, you know. "Liquor is quicker" and all that jazz. Want to win my heart? Sling a solid cocktail. End game. It's really just that easy. And in that capacity, Kapow, you had me at Austin Mule. A perfectly mixed ginger-y tonic slammed together with Tito's vodka and dished up in a proper copper cup. Which some how made its way back home with me. The cup just....followed me. I don't know. I tend to have that effect on cups. Weird. So, yes. For all parties involved, I think it best you stay put in Mizner Park and forget our one night together. Besides, I only perform that chopstick-tongue trick on first dates.

Living in Los angeles for over 30 years and having China Town, Little Tokyo and Bangkok one tends to get spoiled when eating in a restaurant that have no Asian cooks. I would call the food HIP food, or WEHO food or SOHO food, I am not saying it was not good but it's not Asian. It's like going to A Chinese restaurant and having Mexican food or visa versa. I had the chicken breast with rice and veggies . I started off with the asparagus tempera appetizer which was good and a Bloody Mary. If you are looking for a romantic place this is not it , it's loud, very loud and fun. They have outside and inside tables. The bad only one person can use the restroom at a time so if it is very busy ,you have a wait. We went with a group of friends about 12 people.

Pricey for portion size but I love the fusion behind the basic and traditional asian dishes. The udon was delicious and the different dumplings and empanadas were unique and flavorful. Enjoyed a Blueberry and lavender mojito and if it wasn't so expensive, would have definitely ordered another!

Great food. Nightmare atmosphere inside. We were seated at a table by the bar and a bunch of drunks were screaming and yelling. Hard to focus on the delicious beef tacos or gyoza.

What a fun place! Though its pretty loud, the acoustics allow for conversation! Nice beer selection, some cool special drinks . . . this place was opened by the guys who own the Irish pub next door, Dubliner. Three couples, so we ordered some apps . . . didn't go too wild, as there were some less adventurous palates, but everything was nice and edible. Apps we had were the Calamari, Edamame, and the Fried Chicken Skin. All had nice flavor, and the dipping sauces were pretty good. Dinner-wise, my wife had the Sea Bass, which must've been great, because it disappeared. One downer on her plate was the White Rice, which was badly underdone. I had the Shrimp Udon. Noodles were done well, broth had nice flavor, Shrimps were done Tempura style, but were more like Panko fried . . . still not bad. Not sure what everybody else had, but since no one complained, I take that as a good sign. Restaurant has a nice pulse, and when the music got too loud, we asked them to throttle it back a bit and they did, which was a nice touch. Next time we'll get a little more adventurous on the ordering and see what kind of cooking chops the chef really has! All in all, a nice meal, nt gourmet, but @ $76 a couple, including booze, a pretty delightful night!

Maybe I'm a little too critical given the fact that I'm Japanese, but I was not impressed with this asian fusion restaurant at all. The pork buns were too ketchup-y, shrimp dumplings kept falling apart and pad thai was just regular. I truly think that all the items on the menu are over priced given the quality, creativity and taste. I must add though, that the service the waitress provided was impeccable and the lavender creme brulee was pretty darn good. The asian fusion food was just a no-no for me.

Fun place, but wasn't wowed by the food. We went with a large party, they didn't quite get the order straight, but eventually fixed it. The beef empanadas were good, but everything else was average. Located in Mizner Park in Boca with several shops and restaurants. Nice to walk around and shop.

My project team and I ate at Kapow! last week after being pent-up in a conference room all day. We made a reservation via OpenTable and received complimentary sake shots due to a check-in on FourSquare. The menu was very unique and delicious and offered something for everyone. We decided to order a variety of items and share them tapas style. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed everything we tried, especially the empanadas and pork ramen. Definitely a cool scene and tasty menu! We will return for more.

Very helpful with questions about carb totals. Beef ramen was amazing, the richness of the soft-boiled egg pairing well with the savory broth. Enjoyed a Spicy Lover cocktail with my meal. The cocktail is a delicious mix of Partida Reposado/ english cucumber/ green tobasco/ cilantro/ organic agave nectar/ lime juice. On a nice day, it's relaxing to sit outside.

Kapow is like a punch to the kisser! But without those ugly sensations typically associated with such actions. I admit, I was late to the scene and didn't check out Kapow for almost a year after they opened. Not because I didn't want to but because it is somewhat troubling for me to hassle with Customs and Immigration from Dade to Broward just for dinner. ;) When I finally made it up there, I did it right and gorged myself on steak, cocktails and more steak. Here's the run down of my personal must-try menu: Tuna Poke is A-OKAY! For me, the habanero cucumber cream is what wins this dish for me. Some couplets were meant to happen and spicy/creamy are one of them. Next, the Beef Yukke is pretty freakin' great too. Kapow's take on Korean beef tartare is, wait for it... Oppan Gangnam Style! - That is to say it's delicious and should be a viral sensation. Even though I was starting to fill to capacity I still had to take on the Creekstone Farms Skirt Steak. Those truffle mashed potatoes were so damn good I wanted to smack my mother - sorry Mom! As far as the cocktails are concerned, I choose to imbibe on a special-run Austin Mule served up in dope show Tito's Vodka copper cups which may or may not still be the property of Kapow Noodle and Cocktail. I may not have ordered drinks off the menu I have had the priviledge of tasting their home-infused apple Bulleit bourbon and other unique concoctions (tip well, you may get to enjoy the goodness too. :D) Between the amazing off menu drinks they are always creating and top-shelf selection you will most definitely get a cocktail you'll love. Bar Skills + Great Booze Selection = Drunk. Finally, the scene. Warm wood tones and modern street(?) art bring this small space a comfortable cozy atmosphere. Too bad it's in another country from Dade County. I think we should start a petition for a second location to open in my backyard.

First of all, I chose to sit inside but it felt like a sauna since the other side of the bar was open. The tables are super small on top of that. I'm a pad thai connoisseur so I got the chicken pad thai. It tasted like straight up ketchup. There was a lot of peanuts though which was nice but other then that not great. The wok edamame had potential but it was only good toward the bottom of the bowl. The server was great. Everything just seemed slightly off taste wise.

  • Shawn M.

The owners of Kapow also own the Dubliner just feet away. If they opened a siberian-themed restaurant that only served gulag goulash, people would line up in wait. My server, Liam, was incredibly helpful and engaging. He made the trip worth my time. The charred edamame is out of this world. I didn't eat much today, but I would love to come hungry next time. Everything I saw made me wish for a bigger stomach. The lonely brah who rated this place a 1-star needs to get out more. This place is awesome.

This place makes me tingly inside and for multiple reasons. First and foremost, the food is magical. I would highly recommend the entire menu, but for a few examples, get the Shishoto stuffed peppers (I'm bad at spelling) as they're incredibly delicious and also share similarities to Russian roulette without the risk of not being able to finish your meal. Most are pretty mild, but every once in a while you pop a pepper in and take a bite to experience a spicy explosion that makes your insides start tap dancing. Their Cauliflower and Brussels are also incredible, and you can never go wrong with the Crispy Beef or their Pad Thai or any of their Ramen offerings or anything else on the entire menu. It's that good. Cocktails are also super legit (especially if they're bourbon based) and the staff and management is super awesome and friendly. A great option for lunch, brunch and dinner. Not going to Kapow could lead to the same bad luck symptoms as walking under a ladder while breaking a mirror, so keep that in mind too.

I just fall in love with Kapow! more and more each visit! It's my go-to spot for bringing out of town guests and it's always a hit. Went for lunch today with a colleague and got the shrimp ramen. Friggin delicious!! Excellent presentation and chock full of goodness. Literally everything I've eaten here has far exceeded my expectations. Can't ask for more - it's definitely my favorite restaurant in South Florida!

Definitely come here on Tuesdays for Buns of Fury. My only issue was that the last time I was there my friend and I were greeted with a ton of flies during our meal. They kept landing on the chopsticks, on our food, and near our faces. And this isn't the first time it's happened. Maybe it's the time of year but it's really annoying to deal with when you're trying to eat.

P.F. Chang's on steriods! If you like the whole Asian Fusion thing, look no further! Brussels with bacon! Stick with apps and avoid large plates- they're not that large and you're better off with variety in my opinion. Great service as well- my new Mizner favorite.

We LOVE Kapow! The Decor is Hip and Eco Conscious. There is a HUGE mural on the wall, steel beams and reclaimed wood walls and floors. The menu is so diverse, there is something for everyone. Since Kapow! promotes relaxed, communal dining, they offer Small or Big Plates, Noodles and Steamed Buns instead of apps/dinners. Our favorite small plates are Wok Charred Edamame, made with toasted sesame oil/ smoked sea salt and Beef Yukke - Korean style beef tartare with truffled brioche crisps,Asian Pear and Wasabi Sour Cream. The flavor of these plates are like A Party in our Mouths! Add a few Steamed Buns to the mix, like the Pork Belly or the Duck Confit and my Tongue goes Wild!! It gets better - The Pan Seared Diver Scallops with bok choy, green curry sauce, rice and straw mushrooms, To Die For!! The Kapow! staff is really knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and very efficient. Every time we go to Kapow!, my gf orders one of their Signature cocktails, the Kiwi Caipiroska (Tito's vodka/ Rock Sake/ kiwi slices/ lime/ simple syrup) - Quoting her, "YUMMO!" Bottom Line - Kapow! ROCKS!!!!

After a long wait Kapow Did not disappoint! My 3 friends and I took part in the recommended "family" dining and collectively tried about half the menu. I don't think I tried a single dish I wouldn't order again. The green tea cured salmon was like a flavor explosion in my mouth! The conch gratin was phenominal, almost tasted like a giant volcano roll. The edamame was probably the best I've ever had and the aweet potato fries are amazing! The beer, wine and sake list was extensive (although no hot sake) and supplemented by a decent list of craft cocktails. Service was attentive, friendly and knowledgable and an all around nice atmosphere. I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed my experience, but I recommend you just check it out yourself. p.s. don't forget to try the duck buns!

Had the pork ramen, laksa and vegetable dumplings. For the money, the food wasn't worth it: the ramen was very one-note and the laksa was somewhat cold when it hit the table. Our server was nice and attentive but "lost" the other half of our egg when we got the leftover ramen to go. What's that about? In all, it was a less than satisfying experience that was salvaged only by the Yelp deal. We saw plenty of other delays and incorrect orders around us, so our issues didn't seem limited. They got our business because Mizner Park was relatively close to our Funky Buddha happy hour... I hope locals get to see improvement as this business continues to develop an identity.

great saki selection, lots of yummy little bites- super attentive servers and staff. Kind of packed, so make a reservation. The only thing I didnt like was that I ordered the Pork dish in a broth and I was thinking more of a Roast pork Chinese style, like slices and it was more like, cuban pork, Pernil, shredded. Lacked flavor. Go for the small plates, dumplings, ribs, etc.

So, decided to check out this place with my girl on a saturday evening because we didn't feel like waiting at another restaurant. Noticed the open table reservation thing and thought, hey that is cool lets make a reservation! We got there and were really bummed out. Turns out we made a reservation for a time that was already reserved, and apparently a large party had just arrived and taken up most of the tables inside. We were quite upset about this. We were told we could sit at the bar and wait for a table to open up, which we did for about 15-20 minutes but it didn't seem like there were any tables that were going to open up anytime soon. We spoke to the manager about this being quite annoyed. Why bother offering an online reservation system through open table if you cant or are unable to honor the reservation? The manager was super nice about all this and apologized, and said he'd give us a free round of drinks and an appetizer. We said we didn't really drink so we could just go with the free appetizer x 2. We ordered two appetizers and a plate of their crispy beef, along with a plate of chicken yakisoba, and the manager said he would take care of us. We were pleasantly surprised when we got our check, we were only charged for the chicken yakisoba only! Overall, the food was great for the most part. The pork gyoza is nothing special but the bulgogi tacos were great! The crispy beef is alright, and the yakisoba was rather tasty! I would recommend this place to others, if not for the food then for the service.

Just did not impress me at all. Food was just okay, and we tried a lot of the menu items.....there is no reason to go back for me. It was so loud in there too. The one thing I did love was the music, whatever station they have it on is great :)

Could easily become one of my favorite restaurants. Nice ambiance, trendy, really friendly staff. 'Tanya The Chemist' has the answers to every question about the menu and is a great bartender. Great place to SHAZAAM the music, too! The menu is more limited than we are used to but we enjoyed a great selection of appetizers for dinner. The pairing of flavors in the dishes is extraordinary and unexpected. Love that this place is not stuffy like so many Boca restaurants.

We try to go often and the food and service is always on spot!. My suggestion is to try many of the small plates and appitizers. They are fun, nicely presented and always delicious. If you are looking for traditional Asian fare look elsewhere. However if you want fun, Kapow takes the best flavors of Asia and takes them to the next creative level. Staff is friendly and the bar always has a broad spectrum of craft beers & specialty drinks. Love this place.

I went here with some old friends last night and was really excited to find this new local gem. This place is hip. The interior design merges vintage, industrial, and Asian influences. There's a very cool mural on the wall. Indoor and outdoor seating. It shares a patio with the Dubliner (another great place). The service was excellent. Staff at the restaurant were polite, knowledgeable, and attentive. The restaurant has a full bar; serving mixed drinks, craft beer, and wine. While I'm normally a beer guy and appreciated the restaurant's craft beer selection (I almost got the double IPA), I wanted to try the drink selection. (The restaurateurs behind Kapow! have a reputation for creating great dink menus.) Under the recommendation of the waitress, I opted for "The Spicy Lover" which was excellent. And spicy is the right word choice as it has kick, but a nice sweet side to offset it. The food was really good. I got the pulled pork steam patties and Beef Yukke. Both were delicious. The portions at Kapow are nice. They don't stuff you but are filling and they're priced so you can try several menu items in a single sitting. I highly recommend Kapow! to anyone looking for a high quality dining experience in a casual atmosphere. The restaurant is a lot of fun. I look forward to going back.

Amazing!!! The skirt steak was up there with the best i have ever had. It was so tender and flavorful. Their cocktail list is also amazing. I had the Key West Killer. Very light and refreshing cocktail with vodka and basil. Apparently the bartender Scott (who is a dead ringer for Matthew Lillard) made it up. Had a few and they were all good but he definitely made the best one. I f you order it I would definitely ask for him to make it. All of the bartenders were awesome and really seemed like they enjoyed being there. Great place!

We waited a long time to receive our dinner and when it finally came, we were in for a shock. Ramen must use ramen noodles to be called Ramen. You can't use Somen noodles and call it Ramen. We were warned by the waiter that they were "in no way authentic"...but I guess we didn't expect ramen noodles to be replaced by somen noodles and have them call it ramen. That's a big no-no. We may sound picky, but I am sure that some of you agree that it's a little disappointing. Maybe the other dishes taste better, but we wouldn't really know since that is all that we ordered.

Stopped by during happy hour to try their $3 bar bites . . . so delicious. My friends and I had the tempura asparagus served with a habanero cucumber cream, shishitou peppers (crab and cheese stuffing, panko breaking, sweet and sour sauce), and the charred edamame. You can tell how fresh the vegetables are and the care onto making the food. They nailed "charred" for the edamame which included a nice garlicky ending after nibbling the sesame item. The peppers were mellow to start and became hotter as the experience went on. Atmosphere was casual. And staff were super friendly. They take common food items, then reinterpret it in a trendy, Asian-esk way. I'll be back!

Just okay, indeed. Tried the pork belly steamed buns and they were AMAZING! So, so, so good. What I really came here for was the ramen. I was disappointed. It was pricey (though what do you expect? It's Mizner Park), and it just didn't have the right flavor. Sure, I'm comparing it to the 5 star awesomeness of ramen houses in NYC (Totto Ramen, Oh! Taisho...), but still, I wasn't impressed. It looks like there were some happy hour specials on drinks, so I might come back to try that! Otherwise, the food was average.

Ummm yeah this spot is o.k. when you give a place such rave reviews I'm expecting something out of this world. This isn't the first time I've been mislead by Boca peeps reviews. I'm starting to wonder if they've ever really had good food?

Waited at least 50 minutes for noodles with a hungry toddler and one of our appetizers, the sweet potato fries, was undercooked and did not match the sauce. We ended up leaving before the main course. The management really tried hard to make it up to us, though.

Ok, so I'm 35 years old and have never in my life written a review, but after my experience at Kapow I just had to. I went to Kapow on a wed night, and after I left I just had to scream KAPOW!!!! Ok so yes that might be corny but you get my point. The place was not only clean and well kept, but the atmosphere was amazing. The staff makes you feel very welcome, the managers checked on us on multiple occasions, and the food was out of this world (fyi, I didn't know edemame could be so damn good!). The bar was well stocked with all the latest and greatest (you have to try the ginger mojito, trust me), and the bartendars were actually nice!! If you feel like having a night out with some friends or just a nice romantic dinner/drinks with your loved one, do yourself a favor and go to kapow. You wont be sorry.

I honestly can't say enough great things about this place. It is my favourite restaurant in the area. The edamame is amazing, charred with a great flavour! The tuna poke is phenomenal. The korean steamed bun, wonton empanadas, gyozas, shishitou peppers, beef yukke, rock shrimp tempura, miso black cod and diver scallops are also all favourites of mine. The spicy lover drink is delicious. I wish I could drink them all night but at $10 a drink, I don't think so. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is great. They always play great music! Love it and anyone else I have taken there has loved it as well.

I went last night with a large group of adults and kids and the staff was very accommodating of our large and chaotic group. The service throughout the meal was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The food was fantastic. We ordered lots of the "small plates." Absolutely delicious! A couple of us also tried the pork ramen. Having fallen in love with real ramen in Tokyo, this was a satisfying reminder. Not as good as in Tokyo of course but very good in its own right. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Came here for dinner with my friends because reviews were good. I have to say service was good but the food was overpriced and just ok. We had the wings which were a little bit too salty for my liking. We had several more appetizers and nothing stood out. Drinks were also just ok, nothing out of this world. At the end of the night, checks were handed out and a tip was automatically added to the bill since there were more than 6 people in the group. Unfortunately the charge was 20% which I have never seen at ANY restaurant! I really wanted to like this restaurant since the reviews were awesome but I didn't get my money's worth.

Being a foodie, I was excited about this place. The decor is outstanding...gorgeous layout! The mural alone is incredible. Both bartenders and waitstaff were very attentive. And it's all of the above that get five stars. The food? Disappointing at best.grilled tongue appetizer could have been slabs of bacon grilled for about an hour. The pho? Not even close. Zero flavor - no basil, bean sprouts, lime, or traditional condiments. Maruchan ramen tastes better, even with the MSG. After eating traditional Vietnamese and looking forward to a known chef's version...could've been reheated dyed dishwater. House specialty drinks at full price only fill the glass 3/4. Despite the beauty of the place, the food was not even close.

I work in Mizner and have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Kapow! I have eaten here a few times and the food, drinks and service have been amazing each time. I haven't been able to go there without having their Waygu beef entree. Every time it has been cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! Another must try are the steamed buns. You can't miss with any of them. The edammame is like none other and addicting. Their signature cocktails do not dissappoint either. The jalapeno margarita and spicy love are two of my faves! The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and super friendly. This place is somewhere I will frequent often ... it is that good!

  • Chris V.

The place was ok. The prices are a little on the high side, and unfortunately, the ramen isn't real Ramen. I had the pork Ramen which was ok. The noodles are a different consistency. Not real ramen. Seems more like egg noodle soup that you find in a Chinese restaurant. The broth is good although a wee bit on the salty side. That being said, the service was phenomenal and the special drinks they have are quite good. Would probably only go back for drinks.

We went to Kapow for a friends birthday. The space was open, relaxed and clean. The menu was nicely done with a mix of items. There is alot of seafood and intestinal items. There was a group of 10 of us...we all ordered items and shared them. I was midly impressed with the execution of most of the dishes. I was hoping for a lil more zing but nothing really amazed me. I think if you aren't a major foodie then you would be impressed with the food. I would not go again unless invited for a friends birthday or event.

If u like Asian food it's great. The tuna poke was incredible!! Beef ramens are awesome!! I like spicy so I added sirache it was great. The veggie dumplings are wrapped in a spinach dough it's so worth the time!! And if you check in there on yelp you get a free warm house sake.

Very good place. Upbeat. Great service and atmosphere. Very interesting and tantalizing food. I generally eat plant-based, but took a night off for my meal here. I hope this place does well!

Service was prompt and the food was tasty and interesting. I purchased the deal voucher ($15 for $30 ), but was told when I got there that I couldn't use the voucher during happy hours. There isn't anything to reflect this in the fine print so just be aware of that if you purchase one. Overall, it was pretty good though and would come again.

This was my 4th trip to Kapow. Every time before I have enjoyed myself thoroughly and everything has been excellent. This time, however, I felt the need to complain about a few things. We waited about 10 minutes after being seated before someone even came to say hello and take our drink orders... Now the inside was empty and the outside almost full but there were 5 servers on and it was 5:30 on a Tuesday, so no real reason for the slow service. My seared scallops were over cooked and a bit chewy, which this was the 2nd time I've had a problem with the consistency of this dish since one time before they were fairly undercooked in the center, pretty much rare on the inside. The biggest problem I had was the service from our waitress. She came to check up on us and asked how we liked our food when 3/4ths of our plates were gone... There is a 2 minute rule that servers should abide by, especially when she had the time to lean on the bar and chat with fellow employees. After she took our plates, we didn't see her for another 15 minutes. She then came and asked if we were all set, which obviously we were since we had been sitting with nothing on our table for 15 minutes... Anyways, she printed out another table's check and walked right past is without dropping one off for our table, then did some service outside, came back in and filled up a large tray of drinks for another table, then realized she never have us our check. Yeah, for having 3-4 tables tops, it was total negligence.

Don't miss this! The steamed buns with bbq beef, so tender and delicious. The noodles are made fresh. My husband and I loved the tender chicken and rich tasting broth of the chicken ramen soup. Noodles made fresh in the restaurant. We look forward to going back to try the many interesting dishes. Great and relaxing atmosphere, not loud. We'll done!

Really wish I could give this place two and a half stars, but I had to settle at 2. The food is for the most part great-the chefs have done a great job mixing flavors, the presentation is nice, the food is creative. However, the portions are tiny relative to the price and the quality is a bit low, again relative to the price. My shishiku(sp?) peppers were good(much like jalapeno poppers), but the skirt steak was maybe 6 oz at best and very very chewy. For the 21 bucks it cost, I can get a 20 oz porterhouse from the outback with 2 sides. The skirt steak comes with a bed of mashed potatoes(not a lot), as well as some interesting japanese mushrooms with truffle oil. Good, but not enough to be filling. My gf got the cod which was a very small portion as well. Asians, please note it is fusion, so don't expect authentic. I would like to give three starts because it was really good, but 3 stars says A-ok, and I am not A ok with paying 60+ for 2 people and needing a snack when I get home.

I like the concept and idea of Kapow, but the execution of food and taste did not meet up to my expectation. We tried a variety of dishes that are personal family favorites from our home. Being of Asian decent with previous experience of authentic Asian cuisine, I was so dissappointed! The pho had a brown broth, the same as the ramen, and was missing the big fresh Thai Basil, beansprouts, chilis, and lime! The taste was so bland and unlike anything that resembled pho! The shirataki noodles with salmon had a kim chee base flavor that I usually love, but again it was lacking in garnish. It really needed some green onions or something to give it some texture and give it another layer of flavor. The steamed buns bulgogi had no bulgogi flavor reminiscent of my Korean heritage. Also the presentation of it stuffed in a little box hid the whole beauty of it! Show it off! I noticed the guests next to us on both sides had no idea how to eat it. They were picking the meat out first! Yikes! Educate your guests and share the wonderment of Asian food at it's finest! Don't try to be artsy in your presentation and take away from the essence of the food! The skirt steak and the crispy chicken skin was ok. Again the skin left more to be desired. The best part of the meal was the shishito peppers stuffed with crab and cheese. The presentation was simple, but the flavor was good! The cheesecake dessert was yummy, but I didn't care for the panna cota with juniper juice. I just didn't get how the desserts fit in with the whole theme of the place? So to call this place a Noodle Bar left me very unsatisfied! I will not hesitate to try it again if I hear about any changes to make it closer to authentic. I was waiting for the flavors to Kapow! me off my feet, but it was short of ka...:(

The food and service were good but I wouldn't go more than three stars. Had the Rock shrimp and Tuna Salsa appetizers along with the yellowfin tempura for the main course. Everything was better than average and our server was great. Here are the cons, communal seating so you are on top of the next table and pricing was too high for a noodle house. If I didn't have the discount deal, I would have felt ripped off. I would go for happy hour and sit at the bar but not pay full price for anything here.

I think the dumplings were GREAT. The pad thai was average....Honestly Pei Wei is better when it comes to pad thai. I would absolutely go back here food was good and service was good and atmosphere was good. It is a bit pricey though.

Went with another couple and finally checked out Kapow last night. We had a groupon deal that included 4 small plates and two entree's. This was great because I think we ended up trying 70% of the menu lol. We started with beef tongue, green tea cured salmon, rock shrimp tempura, pork belly, and charred edamame. All were excellent, the presentations were clean and very attractive, the pork belly (my personal favorite) was the best I have ever had, came with a spicy slaw and a honey mustard type sauce that perfectly balanced the app. The beef tongue was tender and had a charred taste that was very pleasant. Really enjoyed that one. While we munched on these tasty app's we tried some of the cocktails on the list and I can personally vouch for the spicy lover, and the dill cucumber drink, both were well balanced and tasty. Our main courses came out and we shared the adobo chicken fried rice and the miso black cod. Both were very good, fried rice was super moist and well balanced, would like a little crispier chicken just to change texture's. We couldn't stop there and ordered the duck confit and bbq beef bun's, these were very good, love the texture of the bun vs the rich filling. It did not end there, the deserts were crazy, the cheese cake spring rolls, unreal. The carrot cake, top notch. Both were unexpected (thought desert here would be avg.) but when you go its a must order. Overall loved Kapow, atmosphere is great, service was great, food was great, drinks were great, price, without groupon 150 something for 4 with a ton of food and a few drinks.

I went last night with my wife and another couple and we started ordering some appetizer plates and really couldn't decide which ones we wanted because they all sounded interesting. We just kept ordering more and more plates and trying out the menu. I can not think of anything we ordered that did not taste amazing. The Salmon you could taste the freshness, the beef tongue was amazing, rock shrimp - just everything was delicious. Then getting into the real dinner the buns, black cod, ramen, chicken fried rice, I felt like we couldn't stop ordering because we just wanted to experience each dish it was so good. My favorite of all were the shrimp dumplings, just perfect. Overall it was a great dinner, in a really cool place and a good vibe. The service was great and our waitress was just a cool down to earth girl, making jokes, and creating a good atmosphere. Now the drinks - those were really unique and I tried several and my favorite were the spicy ones, the jalapeno margarita and the spicy lover were great tasting with just a slight kick. The cheesecake sticks dessert with the sauce you dip it in was so good, I wish there were more cheesecake sticks so it wouldn't look weird for me wanting to just finish the sauce. Can't wait to go back - phenomenal experience.

My husband, son and I have dined here several times for the 4-7 Happy Hour Menu. How can you beat $3 small plates?! We crave the crispy chicken skins and always order the pulled pork steamed buns and now have a new favorite -- the tempura asparagus. We eat like kings for very little. The staff is always so nice and we have been telling all of our neighbors and bringing our friends.

No complaints about service. Employees can't help what they are stuck working with. Food -meh. Not necessarily bad, but not very good either. We may have been more forgiving if we weren't eating in a sauna. It was HOT sticky and uncomfortable. Wouldn't even consider going back again in summer. This place may have survived in cooler weather but it is going to die during summer unless they get up off it and run the air. The boast of being Asian, specifically Korean, falls short. Kimchee slaw on the sliders - really? Bulgogi tacos - not. The tacos were edible if not as advertised, the sliders a total disappointment of blah and blah. The fancy shmantzy drink menu - give me a break. Please, do not put gross "foam" on top of a mediocre cocktail. What a waste of bourbon ( or any liquor). This place tries too hard to be what they think is " cool", instead of making an effort to put out good food. Yeah, We went. No, we won't be back. Totally don't get where all the good reviews came from. Obviously, not grown-ups. May not be bad for a quick stop, but don't go out of your way.

East Boca has a number of overated, snotty establishments that frankly are stuffy and pretentious. Not so with Kapow. The friendly staff gives great service on every visit. I've never been let down in service from the hostess, bartenders, or servers. If you live cocktails they have a great list of craft and unique drinks. Angie's New Fashion is delicious as well as the apple cinnamon barrel bourbon on the rocks. Also they always have a great craft beer list to choose from. Some of my favorite dishes are the tuna poke, chicken fried rice, and crispy beef. Really everything has been very good overall. The Ramen dishes offer great broth and hearty portions. The crowd seems to be more laid back and friendly than in many other nearby establishments. I also love the open air feel of Kapow. Kudos!

Good not great Asian food. The ramen was a bit salty. The Korean Street tacos were yummy but a little over sauced. The green beans we didn't even eat, undercooked and sauce in bottom of the bowl very salty with little other flavor. Chicken Pad Thai was great, but not in an authentic way. We cleaned the plate anyway. Fun atmosphere both indoor and out. Dogs welcome on patio. Reasonable prices for this area.

You know it's good when you go to sleep and have a dream about their Korean sliders. Okay so let's be real here : GO FOR THE HAPPY HOUR. Half off appetizers, beers, and wells. We ordered the sliders that came in a steamed bun (AMAZING), the roasted cauliflower/ brussel sprouts in a citrus soy sauce (healthy and delicious), the dumplings (pretty good, your standard dumpling), and the street tacos (so yummy). I also had a few angry orchards in the process. All in all, great food, cool atmosphere, and the staff were all so nice and personable! I will be back for sure!!

Pan Asian noodle bar never fails to satisfy. Funky Buddha beers add to the So Boca local feel of Mizner Park. Banh Mi, Stuffed Peppers, Buns, Cauliflower/Brussels Sprouts and even Wings make for a heroic combination.

I came here Friday after work to meet up with some Yelpers for a bite to eat. I started with the edamame. This was absolutely amazing. After they boil it, I believe they throw it in a wok with some garlic and sesame oil. I am legitimately salivating as I am writing this. Next, I ordered the sweet potato au gratin. This was thinly sliced sweet potatoes layered and baked with some parmesan cheese. It was good for a small side option. However, I am not sure that I would order this again. Then I went onto sweet potato fries covered in some brown sugar. I really liked this side dish. It came with some dipping sauce that was paired well together. However, it was so sweet that I could not finish it. I would actually consider ordering this for a dessert. Even after all this sweetness in my mouth, I still went on to order dessert. Call me fat. I don't care. Anyway, I had the vanilla cheesecake spring rolls. It was two long, thin spring rolls stuffed with cheesecake, walnuts and cinnamon-sugar. There was some type of banana caramel sauce to dip it. I really loved the dipping sauce, however, I wasn't too excited over the spring rolls. Don't get me wrong, it was not bad. I like cheesecake, I don't love it. If you are a cheesecake lover, you will probably really enjoy this dish. Overall, the staff was incredible and the food was very flavorful. I opted to order a bunch of sides, but I plan to come back for an actual entrée. They can substitute tofu for many of the dishes to transform them into vegan and vegetarian friendly. Since I came during happy hour, the apps were half off. My bill was very inexpensive for all of that.

Delicious and fresh food. Super service. Bibimbap baby! Great time. Big variety of dishes on menu. Everything fresh. Flexible and helpful staff. Couldn't be better. I was thirsty and went through 5 glasses of water but my glass never got empty and I never had to ask for a refill - Christina was on it. Did I mention super service?

The experience really ruined my evening, which was a b-day dinner. We were a party of 8 on a Sunday night. They were out of half the menu: no salmon, no tuna, no scallops, no mushroom sticky buns (no mushrooms), no bim bim bap! What was available of the food was indeed quite tasty but the fact that the restaurant was so-ill prepared left a very bad taste. And yes it is small. When I spoke to the person who called to confirm the reservation for 8, I was not asked if we wanted inside or out. When we arrived I was offered both, but in reality outside was the only option for a party our size, unless we wanted to wait a very, very long time. It was a bit hot outside but we tolerated it. The lack of options on the menu was something I have never experienced before. And to not be able to serve one of your signature dishes (I had my heart set on the bim bim bap, since there are so few places in the area to get it), was very disappointing.

This place is great! Happy hour from 4pm-7pm, $4 appetizers. I had the mushroom in steamed buns with and pickled cucumbers, so good! For my entree I had skirt steak ramen, the broth was perfect! Our waitress Mary was very friendly and attentive too, love this place :)

The much talked about taco and the sliders are delicious. Service is excellent. Came by once on Tuesday for $1 tacos. Great deal. Also came on a wednesday for half off bottles of wine. Thoroughly enjoyed it. There is nice seating at the bar inside and out. Enjoyed a sake bomb too!

A friend and I tried kapow for happy hour and I'm glad we did. I had been here only once before and I wasn't that impressed. The happy hour definitely redeemed itself. They have a list of discounted cocktails, beers, wines I started with a lychee martini which was very yummy. We got a couple apps off their happy hr menu. Shrimp dumplings and an app of Panko fried stuffed peppers. Both were yummy. I will definitely come back for happy hour again. I probably wouldn't come here for a full meal still as the food non happy hr is pretty pricy.

While the food, was for the most part, well prepared, one the whole it was one of the worst dining service experiences I've had in South Florida. A group of 6 of us stopped in during happy hour. Our server asked us if we wanted to food brought out as it was ready and we said yes. Then waited for 25 minutes before the first dish arrived. Two of the group who arrived later than the others, and ordered later had their food brought out first. One of the party asked or a bowl of rice and it took nearly half an hour to be delivered to the table. Also, when dishes were brought to the table they were routinely delivered to the wrong person, or "auctioned off" (as in who had the...-excuse me isn't it the server's job to know who ordered which dish?) I understand that at happy hour they're going to be extra busy, but then they should staff the kitchen appropriately and hire someone who can expedite orders better. After 45 minutes, one of our group still hadn't gotten any of his dishes and canceled his order. Nothing was offered for our inconvenience, and there was barely an apology. Believe me, we won't be returning.

Seated immediately at the reservation time. In my reservation, I requested an outside table. Without missing a beat, that is exactly where we were seated. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. The edamame is the best anywhere!! We also ordered the skirt steak and it was fantastic!! I can't wait to go back!! Great food, excellent service, all at a reasonable price.

This is our go-to for a drink and a bite, or a good bowl of ramen. There's a upbeat, friendly vibe, food is tasty (except when they burn the soy) and comes out fast. Great staff and 1/2 price happy hours.

After having a terrible dining experience at Kapow, I wrote a pretty scathing review here on Yelp. Shortly after, the owner of the restaurant contacted me in hopes that he could remedy my horrible experience. He offered to bring me and a few friends in for a free meal, that we might have a better experience. I took him up on this offer, and he sent me a $50 gift card to the restaurant. When I returned, I have to say that I very much enjoyed my time at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly, and they seemed to be much more organized than the last time I was there. Our waiter was great, and the food was delicious. I have to say, after giving this restaurant another chance, I was very impressed. I would definitely recommend dining here.

I always have a good time when I go to kapow. The food and the drinks here are either a hit or a miss for me, but once you figure out what's good you are good to go. My favorite cocktails are the spicy lover( which by the way is amazing and a little spicy) and the lychee martini. For the food its good to go for their small plates or some of the big plates, the noodles are just ok and lack flavor. I recommend their red curry shrimp, the bibimbap, the peach tea cured salmon, tempura asparagus, and shishitou peppers. The crowd at kapow tends to be younger, which is a good thing for Boca. Another upside is that they are open late.

I went on a Sunday afternoon. Mostly younh crowd on this place. Im not too hungry so i only ordered beef empanada and pulled pork bun. The beef empanada is served with vinegar and spices. It is very crispy and it taste good. You can dip it also on other sauces that are in their table. The pulled pork bun is OK. I just dont like that the pork is sliding when you eat it. The service is fast. The waitress is friendly and courteous. I might go back to try their ramen.

5 Stars for their drink menu, atmosphere, and service. 2.5 stars for the food. Perhaps living in CA, I am spoiled with the immense amount of authentic variety of Asian food? Either way, I just didn't love anything we ordered at all. We ordered: Tequila Mockingbird: Tasty- a little too sweet for me Escape from Alcatraz: Very delicious with a nice kick Steamed Veggie Dumplings: Bland and the actual dumpling itself was too dense. Steamed Shrimp Dumplings: Same as above. Trader Joes has better microwaveable dumplings to be honest. Garlic Edemame: The saving grace- definitely order with your drinks if you're hungry :) Chicken Pad Thai: Bland & dry...then they put a sauce on the side that is way too spicy. Sesame Tuna Udon: Total fail. Fishy, not enough broth, odd mix of flavors. So strange really. Asian fusion can mean a couple things...either the menu is mixed of different types of Asian fare or that the dishes are a combination of different Asian Cusine. Whatever this is, it didn't really work for me. I suggest hiring an Asian chef (or two) to tweak the recipes as needed. As stated above, the drink menu and atmosphere is great so don't completely skip this place...its certainly a great place to grab some cocktails and hang.

Kapow is a winner every time. Took an old friend from Atlanta about two weeks ago and he absolutely loved it. Like couldn't stop talking about it thanked me a dozen times and again the next day...loved it. We shared a few small plates and had a few micro brews. The edamame hummus, tuna poke bowl and some sliders. So. many yums. Our server Crysti was super cool, polite and took the time out to talk with us & check on us. She made us feel comfortable and the service was stellar. And did I mention that their play-list is reminiscent of my favorite jams on my ipod. Clearly - I am a fan. Kapow! Noodle Bar is a breath of fresh air.

This place has some great items on the menu, the beef tongue though??? Kinda gross, my friend ordered it and I wasn't paying attention when he did and when it came out he offered me a piece and I ate it and found it to be dry and pretty bland gross texture otherwise the other dishes I ordered were good

The BEST dining experience we have had in a long, long while! Our servers, Natasha at dinner and Rebecca at lunch, were beyond exceptional which shows they love working where they work. Then there are the flavors that explode off the plates. We loved our Asian wings, our steamed buns with pork, the tuna poke rocked our mouths with an explosion of flavors, and that they had Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc on the wine list was an extra bonus. Great energy to the place (a concert was going on at Mizner Amphitheater) so we sat outside to hear the music and see part of the stage. What a GREAT place.

Went to kapow's today for brunch. Everything on the brunch menu sounded very good. I order the kapow hash! While it was extremely yummy, I was highly disappointed that there wasn't much of it. I finished my meal and was still very hungry! Kapow I loved the food, but I urge you to make the portion size of the kapow hash much bigger! I went with a large group and others had also ordered the kapow hash and a couple of people were picking off other peoples breakfast dish, which was a lot bigger! Food and service was great but please make the portion size bigger!!!!!

Kapow is definitely one of my go-to places, especially when I have company visiting and I want to take them somewhere fun, and unlike anything "back home" (Western Mass). If you can get there for happy hour, it's absolutely amazing how many different things you will be able try for SUCH a low price! I have tried MANY of the items on the menu, and everything from the deep fried chicken skins to the charred brussels sprouts and cauliflower is amazing, and their pad Thai was the best I've ever had!

Let's start of with this, if you're looking for an authentic taste of the east this is NOT your spot. Some might come here and after viewing things like sangrias, "Korean" sliders, and "Vietnamese" wings that this is in fact an authentic dinging experience coming out of the heavily mexican populated reigon of Vietnam that borders Korea... Ha Needless (but unfortunately needed) to say, this is a fusion style menu that draws from many eastern spices, ingredients, and techniques. Now that that's out of the way... To the actual review! Been here many times and have tried a lot of the menu. I've have things I've loved and things I've liked but never a thing that I thought was TERRIBLE. After trying so much and failing to write a review before, I'll just go ahead a list some of MY personal favorites. Empenada Wontons- Made in house from what I hear, are little pockets of wonton dough stuffed with savory beef, a few sweet raisins, and potatoes. Fried and served with a tart vinaigrette. Packs a punch in every bite. Tuna Udon- They pile up savory sesame crusted and seared ahi tuna over a bed of udon noodles, with cilantro, bean sprouts, spicy kimchi, and charred lime then throw it all into a bowl, top it off with an udon broth and bam! Light, savory, spicy and sour I was instantly hooked. (Yes, it's a soup.) Creekstone Farms Skirt Steak- Highly recommended by most of the servers is the skirt steak. I will admit it took me a while to give this one a shot but when I did, oh man. The price tag was made clear after the first bite, being Hispanic I've had plenty of skirt steak through out my life and here you can taste the quality. Soy marinated steak served on a bed of mash potatoes with sweet sautéed mushrooms, fried onion, and topped off with truffle oil. The combination of savory, salty, sweet, earthy is nothing short of excellent. In my opinion, a beautiful example of what asian fusion can be! Service is usually great, even when the restaurant is packed the service remains pretty darn good when it comes to the basics. Throw in some very creative and fun craft cocktails for my old lady and some local brews for me and Kapow! You've got a regular in me.

I wasn't as satisfied as I was the first time I was here. The shrimp udon and chicken ramen was exactly the same except for the type of noodles. Same broth, soft boiled egg, and bok choi. They were both just ok. Not great. Ramen noodles were way overcooked. Korean sliders sucked. Very bland. Nothing korean about it. Bulgogi tacos were pretty good. Shrimp tempura was pretty good. It's just like the bang bang shrimp you get at PF Changs. The cauliflower and brussels sprouts with bacon was pretty good. I liked the chunks of bacon in the dish. Vietnamese chicken wings were ok. They were too fatty. They also don't honor the yelp's check in offer of 10% off your check. They told me that they give out a free shot of hot sake. No thanks.

My boyfriend kept saying I should give Kapow! 5 stars for the music alone. The vibe in this place is awesome. The music is playing (you can still hear yourself think and your dining partner speak), the bar is packed and the vibe is very "hip". The service is phenomenal. The waitress gave us recommendations, was friendly, and continued to check on us throughout the meal. This is one of my favorite date spots! Appetizers- the Korean sticky buns are always delicious. The order comes with two, but they are pretty filling (and dough-y) so if there are two of you dining, one order would be enough. Pan-seared gyoza were amazing! Entree- I had the pad thai and it was fantastic!! It has a little bit of a kick to it, but definitely not spicy. My boyfriend had the chicken fried rice which I didn't think was nearly as good. The food in this place is great, but the vibe is what keeps bringing me back! Just a fun place to dine :)

One of the better restaurants in Meizner Park, where the staff doesn't belittle you with their eyes when they notice you're not a local (aka privileged, wealthy), like the other restaurants on the strip. I have never had Vietnamese so I dont know what to compare it to.as far as authenticity goes, but the food was delicious and I'd definitely go back. The restaurant is small and narrow which gives it a good vibe, a good big city vibe, where all restaurants are small and packed. Loved the atmosphere, great cocktail menu as well.

Service was awesome. Very nice and friendly waiter that tried really hard to acommodate our very demanding group. The food, however was disappointing. We had appetizers of fried asparagus=MEH. Lettuce wraps=MEH And the noodles that we all had were just MEH. Nothing memorable. The ambiance was cool and the place looks like fun. the only plus were the bottomless mimosas they had for sunday brunch. Skip it.

We came to Kapow for lunch on a Saturday. There were no tables but us and a couple at the bar. After we set it took forever for a server to come even say hello, and we could see them just chatting in the back. Because of that we moved to the bar, and that's why I am giving this place three stars. The bartender was really friendly, we sample a few beers before picking. The food we ordered was delicious. We had some veggie and shrimp dumplings and Korean wings for appetizers then shared a chicken pad thai for the entree. The have some awesome beer selection on draft, which we really appreciate.

Excellent food and absolutely genuine spectacular service. Food certainly is not "genuine" or "authentic" Asian, but certainly did have a fun flair of Asian fusion foods. Happy Hour was fantastic as well and I was really happy with our server. She was attentive and made us feel very welcomed. Will be back!

This is one of my favorite places in Boca! I have been coming here since they first opened. If you are looking for "traditional" Asian fare, then this is not the place for you. If you are looking for something tasty, with Asian influences, then this is the place for you! Whether you want to come here with a group of friends and sample small plates and drink, or you want to gaze into the eyes of your flavor of the week, Kapow! provides both a great meal, and a hip atmosphere. I love all of their craft cocktails, and they always have some interesting craft brews on tap. Their happy hour is ridiculous, I almost feel guilty how good it is. ($2 buns on Tuesdays too, I am practically stealing!) My most recent trip for lunch, I ordered the Kapow! burger, which was amazing. It is a moist, juicy patty on naan bread, yum! My go to is usually the tuna poke, which is always refreshing with a little spicy kick from the sauce. The manager, who was a very tall man in a plaid shirt, came over and asked us how everything was. He was really friendly and made us both feel super welcome. I hear they have a fun brunch on Sundays which I have yet to try out. Unlimited mimosas for fifteen bucks, Kapow! what are you trying to do to me!

3.5 Kapow might be the "coolest" place to grab a bite and a drink while at Mizner Park. But I ain't sippin' that fake enthusiasm juice like many of you. Place is type vainglorious, which is something I hope my X-Clan brethrens can relate to. I've been here a few times, some times I felt like I made the right call, others I feel like I was surrounded a predominant hipster crowd. Hipsters can be the worst kind too, not just because of their hygiene, but because how many god damn Obey shirts must I see when I'm chowing on noodles, some steamed buns and sipping on my pricey cocktail? Though I will say, happy hour is on point here and on Sundays they do have a nice deal with mimosas, but if you drink too much they'll water it down and if you're like us, you may even get cut-off discretely. The hostess/service here is usually good, though I've experienced a few times where they must have thought they were somebody of importance. Umm no, you're a hostess at a hipster joint, chill love. The food here is good, some great items, some very very mediocre. What makes a lot of their dishes good, has a lot to do with the presentation or creativity behind said dishes. Like many have already said, it's heavy on the sodium. I know Asian food in general relies on a lot of salt but you'll be drinking a gallon of water by the end of the night. Kapow is a cute place for friends or couples when you're chilling or killing type before iPic. It's definitely the younger demo at Mizner and across from is Dubliner (same owners), the ultimate FAU turned mortgage broker douche bar where people way past their prime, with no kids or any real responsibility are still looking for their soul mate. If you want some solid pad thai or some tacos while enjoying Mizner without all the plastic, Kapow is a cool spot. But some of you are acting like this is the worlds greatest noodle bar. All happy with your check-ins and free fried rice. Calm yourself and get cultured will ya?

Don't eat outside. There is cigarette smoke, you won't hear any conversation with the irish pub next door and all the people at full drinking voices, someone had an overpowering smelly wet dog near our table, and there was sideways rain. Don't be late to your reservation. We reserved a seat inside because it was raining. To get there we dealt with rain traffic and getting my wet card to work in the uncovered parking machine, we got there 7 minutes late. After having us wait a few minutes, we were informed that our table was given away because we were "10-15 minutes" late, I looked at the time right then and it was exactly 10 minutes after our reservation, and we had been there a few minutes! They had us sit outside as punishment. Its funny because the last time I tried a boca restaurant we were on time and they made us wait 15 minutes because apparently in boca they like to overbook reservations. Our waitress was almost as unimpressive as our hostess. We ordered 3 things, a few minutes later she comes back and forgot what 2 of the things were. Thats not a big deal, but the cherry on top of our bad service experience was that 3rd thing we ordered she remembered wrong and we had roasted edamame instead of edamame hummus. Don't be punctuality snobs if you can't even tell the kitchen what 3 things we wanted, lol. This place was a shoe-in for 1 star except that the food and food presentation was excellent.

3.5 I love what they are trying to do. When I came for lunch, Angela (who I later found out created the cocktail menu) was affable and made great suggestions. I had the banh mi sandwich and I loved it. I knew my girl would enjoy the menu so I decided on this place for my birthday dinner Monday night. Neither of us appreciated the hostess' body language and facial expressions. She was not welcoming at all and did not seem to like that we wanted to be seated inside rather than out. Our waitress was a bubbly young gal that did a fine job considering the circumstances. We waited thirty minutes for our cocktails! 30! minutes! It was obvious that the bartender was a) working alone but also b) noticeably inclined to serve her immediate customers seated at the bar than the patrons dining in. A $12 cocktail should not be full of ice. I chose not to complain because I didn't have to, our waitress was very apologetic and discounted the beverages not knowing it was my special day. On a final note regarding service, I can't think of a better adage than "when the cat's away the mice will play". Everyone seemed to be in their early 20's just doing whatever, without any supervision or a manager making sure they act professionally and hustle. I got the sense beardo guy was the man in charge and all he did was stand around and try to joke with the bartender. I'm still a young person and I felt like a father figure to the staff at Kapow. The food was okay. Surprisingly our noodle bowl was blah. The korean beef steamed buns were not that good. The cheesecake spring rolls for dessert had barely any trace of cheesecake. Am I glad I chose this place for my birthday dinner? No. I think I will stick to lunch and maybe grab a cocktail if I'm hanging out in Mizner, but that's about it.

Well, I do have to start by saying that my boyfriend and I discovered KAPOW at the 2013 Burger Battle in Boca. It was our favorite burger out of ALL the competitors, so we went to the restaurant to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and had planned to order that burger since it was so delicious. Unfortunately, it wasn't on the menu, so we started out the meal a bit bummed. The waiter informed us that the Korean Sliders were pretty close to what was served at the event, so we figured we would give them a try. We were pretty disappointed. My boyfriend couldn't even finish his because the inside was so rare. On the other hand, we also ordered the Vietnamese wings, which were delicious... Full of flavor, great texture. Along with our appetizers, we ordered a drink each. I had the DADDY'S ROOTBEER FLOAT, and I was VERY happy with that choice! Sweet & barely tasted of alcohol (which is just how I like it). My boyfriend ordered a drink off of the special menu, but it was so "smokey and salty" that he couldn't drink it. The waiter took immediate notice and was quick to remedy the problem by swapping it out for a drink of my boyfriend's choice. We really appreciated his attentiveness and service. He was fantastic. For our meals, we both had a noodle dish. I had the Sesame Tuna Udon- the noodles were nice and thick and the tuna was good (not great), but there was not a ton of food there. My boyfriend had the skirt steak ramen- he said it was good but a bit bland and a small portion. We ended the night with the Spring Roll Cheesecake after learning the Carrot Cake was seasonal. I knew my boyfriend was bummed out as he was really looking forward to that, but the spring rolls were beautifully presented and a nice combination of crunch and sweet. As a "birthday gift," it was on the house- so that was quite sweet and surprising. Overall, it was not a home run for us... but it was good night. Great service, good food, decent atmosphere (but very hot!) After dining I asked my boyfriend if he would return, and we both are unsure at this point. If I could say one thing--- the burgers at the Burger Battle were out of this world and would make a fabulous addition to the daily menu. We came to the restaurant just to relive the experience and would undoubtedly return should it become available.

The best time to visit Kapow! is for brunch on Sundays. They have a Bloody Mary bar that is good enough to write home about. 5$ gets you an ounce and a half of vodka. After that you take it to the bar and mix it up yourself. I have had the jalapeños, horse radish, pickles and peppers. Tobasco, celery, and bacon. Just do NOT put a sauce by the name "Sudden Death". It is in a very unassuming bottle, but it Wil send you into a fit for 40 minutes if you dapple.

Oh Kapow! and your little buns of heaven. No seriously.... the korean buns (and we're talking food here people!!) are KILLER!!! But I'm getting ahead of myself. Kapow! is situated right smack in the middle of Mizner Park, right next to Dubliner. It's a small restaurant with a great outdoor bar area, which once again, shares it's area with Dubliner. I've been here a few times, and never have been disappointed... ever! Let's start with drinks. Come thirsty my friends. Their drink selection is outstanding. Eclectic flavors, ingredients, and a lot made in house. I love the Tequila Mockingbird. Basil, jalapeno, tequila... you can't go wrong there. It's all muddled and made with so much love, that the taste just explodes on your taste-buds. I've had a few other cocktails... but next to Tequila Mockingbird, my other favorite is the lavender blueberry mojito. So fresh, refreshing, and delicious. The bartenders are great at what they do. You can't go wrong with any of their drinks. Let's talk food now. Every time I go to Kapow! I get various small plates. I have gotten their pad thai... excellent Pad Thai. But that's not why I'm going to Kapow! I'm going for other things on the menu. Start with the Beet and Peach tea cured Salmon. Amazing!!! You get these berries on the side that are tart and sweet, fried basil over it, and the salmon is thinly sliced, and has a distinct peachy flavor. It's out of this world. A staple if I may say. After that, your eyes must, and I say MUST stop at the buns. I don't know how they make their buns, but they are so fluffy and so perfectly made that they melt in your mouth. The Korean Buns are my favorite. It's a little patty of pork and beef, with a slaw on it. Mouth watering, perfectly cooked, sweet, sour and spicy. Next the pulled pork buns. It's their take on a pulled pork sandwich. Killer. Amazing. Finger licking good. Now, I just had the beef street tacos. Not for the weary. It is SPICY!! But, so flavorful. Perfectly cooked rib-eye slices, and there is this insane sriracha aioli. I had sweat dripping down my face, but I devoured every last bite. When you go to Kapow! (and believe me, you will now go... just to get some buns), I guarantee you will LOVE it. Ignore the bad reviews, and follow mine. Amazing, outstanding. One of my favorites!

Great looking bar and restaurant. Service: excellent hostess and waitress. The hostess was able to accommodate my coworkers and I even though we didn't have reservations. The waitress was very nice and checked up on us often. Food: tried the following... Beef tongue - tender and flavorful. Prob the better appetizer. Vietnamese chicken wings - I'm Vietnamese and didn't know 'Vietnamese' specialize in wings. Wings were ok. Taste like sweet soy sauce glaze wings. Brussels sprouts - chopped up Brussels sprout mixed with other green veggies and bacon. Nothing special or I can't make at home. Skirt steak - tender and cooked right. It's pretty much steak and potato but a skinny version. Again, nothing to rave about. Beer - bottle selection is decent but the price is steep. Probably wouldn't come back due to the price and not a lot of flavor.

I came here pretty late on a Sunday night. I decided to make a reservation on yelp via open table, just in case. When I got there, the place was virtually empty so I guess the reservation wasn't needed after all. We were seated, then given a beer menu and when we tried to order from that beer menu, we were told that none of those drinks were available. Why would anyone bring out an obsolete menu? Next, we opted to sit outside because the waiter sold me on the nice warm heaters. But, the heater ran out of propane about 10 minutes after we sat so I basically shivered my way through my meal. 2 staff members came around to turn off the switches on other heaters but no one bothered to ask me if I needed a new one since mine was clearly out of gas. After I inquired about the heat, I was told that the tanks are new and the staff isn't sure of how long they last. Word of advice: chicks get cold!! Don't screw with our heat!! The menu sounded very promising but sadly the food was a disappointment. That's not to say that anything tasted bad, just very bland in contrast to the discription in the menu. The best part of the meal was the appetizers. We had tempura asparagus and very tasty edemame, it's hard to mess those things up and I'm glad they didn't! Next I ordered tuna poke which was tasty but didn't come with enough fried wontons for the amount of tuna that was served. The Asian mushroom bun wasn't bad but it absolutely lacked any "Asian" flavor. It's advertised as being made with soy sauce so why didn't I taste any? Finally, the Korean sliders looked great but again, no flavor. Kimchi (cabbage) is red in color and has a spicy red pepper flavor, if the Korean sliders were made with kimchi slaw, shouldn't the slaw be red (or pink) and have more flavor than just plain cole slaw? The staff consisted of very young and immature guys. I had no direct issue but it was odd to see waitstaff just hanging out in front of customers as if they were in their own lounge... Eeks! I understand that this is Asian fusion not Mott street in chinatown. I did expect the FUSION of different flavors and styles, not a bland expensive meal. Based on other reviews, this place seems to be a good spot for after work happy hour and apps but I don't reccomed making a trip here for dinner. I won't be back unless I happen to be in the area around 5pm on a work night.

Used to love this place...its gone very downhill it is alarming. At with some family there the other night to impress them, but our service was awful, our female server was very rude and it seemed all the servers just wanted to hang out with each other. No manager in sight even when i asked to speak to one nobody came. It was the evening but not super busy so where could the manager have been?! We didnt send any food back but it was overly salty with tough chicken, my family and i ended up getting apps somewhere else. very sad. used to love this place. :(

We've eaten garbage here before. This time however, was pretty damn good I had the Bimimnop and my wife had the red curry shrimp. Very good. The Bimimnop is a veggie and rice dish served in a cast iron pot with a protein option. It was excellent and I had mine with tofu. The only complaint on the curry was needed more curry sauce. Wine was good. Great beer selection. A little pricey for what u get I would recomend being in the mood for Asian food and, if there is such a thing, in the mood for Asian fusion. Took me a long time to order as the menu is short and nothing struck my fancy. A bit loud but not bad and great service.

***********First Visit************** Went in looking for a place open late to eat. Saw the reviews, they are as good as they say. I must of walked past this place 50 time sand not realize what I was missing. Probably why it got the title of best new restaurant two years in a row. Drink menu is amazing. When it comes to specialty drinks few places can rival this. Even though they didn't have an ingredient for my blueberry mojito I still got a delish kiwi drink with vodka. Food was amazing. Best edamame I've had. Seared scallops that give the northern restaurants a run for their money. Can't wait to come back and try more things. Now that college is back in session was looking for a classier place where it wouldn't be overwhelmingly overfilled. This is that spot. Even after a bill snafu, Staff was amazing and very nice and honest. I'm a new regular. **************Second Visit************ Pork dumping for an appetizer. Best dumplings ever. Great presentation. Crispy steak for the main course, very very good may have seen better in the past at other places (it's been a while) but still top notch. Great staff in Tracy and Scott but somehow my bill got messed up again lol. Ok if this happens a third time in a row I'm gunna think something's up. **************Third Visit************ Ok I think I'm just about to wear this place out as the menu fits on one page. I bring a friend and grab a couple of beers at the very end of Labor Day weekend and everyone was recovering at home and it was mostly quiet out in Mizner park that night. They were out of the first thing she wanted for an appetizer but no big deal. I was ranting about this place and led her to some better things on the menu. I figure well geee this is a noodle bar let's try some noodles. I grab steak pad Thai and she got tofu. We started off with veggie dumplings. Food was yet again, amazing. And this time, no bill snafu. :) yay. After a 20% coupon I stumbled upon, they even evenly split up the bill and I got my extra beer on mine and not split. Still after 3 visits, a solid 5 star rating. But with only a 3 star price. Winning.

I went to Kapow! for happy hour. I must say it was a lot of fun, we sat at the outside bar but it started pouring so we all went inside and sat down and drank. The bar tenders are always super cool and friendly and makes the experience so much fun. My girlfriends phone died and our bartender even took her phone and put it on a charger somewhere which I thought was pretty cool. We once again had edamame which was bomb.com and just hung out and drank. We all ended up getting hungry so for dinner I ordered the shrimp red curry without rice (to keep it gluten free and healthier) and it was simply amazing. My friend also ordered the same thing and kept the rice and we both literally cleaned out plates!!!!

sweet dewey's bbq wow! a new rib place just opened here in boca on north side of glades road right near lyons. it has a nicely varied menu with items like veal brisket and beef ribs, alongside of the usual fare. the sauce is terrific and the portions large. price is moderate. but the drawback is limited seating space. right now they are doing a huge takeout business with delivery soon to follow. (they've been too busy)

I met up with some other Yelp members to check this place out. It is located right in Mizner Park. They do accommodate groups as there were about 15 of us. The menu offers appetizers, small plates, main dishes and ramen dishes as well. I sat with boyfriend, sister and a friend. We ordered several small plates and appetizers. I explained to the waiter that I was a vegan and he said that they would be able to adjust some of the food for me. One thing I ordered that I really enjoyed was this bowl of cauliflower and brussel sprouts which they left out the bacon for me. The sauce was so delicious. We also ordered a bowl of edamame pods which was seasoned and oiled. They were excellent. Other things that we ordered that were great were tempura asparagus, seasoned green beans and sweet potato fries. My boyfriend ordered a chicken fried rice and said the chicken was good. This was a very busy place the night that I went. They do have a good sized bar area to sit at as well to have a drink and eat at. i can't wait to go back!

Worth coming here, especially for the happy hour! Now it is really a 4.5, but we had such exceptional service that Kapow! deserve the 5 star review. Decided to host a UYE upon the recommendation of Yelper phenom, Greshka. After receiving a robust response to the UYE, I decided to make a reservation for 15 people. It was a pleasure dealing with the staff on the phone, who were more than happy to accommodate our large party on a Friday night during happy hour. Upon arrival, our table was ready, and the service was prompt. Eager to take advantage of the half off apps for happy hour, we tried the edamame, gyoza, and vegetable dumplings. All of which were delicious. We also ordered the chicken skin, which was good, but could have been more seasoned. We also ordered a couple of bao and sliders all of which were delicious. (Note the bao only have two per plate). We also ordered noodle soups (pork and chicken). The noodles were pretty tasty, although a bit pricey and are large enough that you could probably be split if you order the apps. The draft beer list is small, but selective and well rounded including a variety of ales, IPA's and lagers. The bottled craft beer selection is more diversified (about 20) and there are even gluten free beers available. Overall a wonderful experience with my friends and fellow Yelpers! Thanks so much to Glenn, Marisol,Marques, Greshka and all the Yelpers who came and help make the UYE a success.

Very innovative place with a number of "can't find anywhere else" selections. We stopped by for Happy Hour and tried the stuffed shishitou peppers; a Serrano sized mild chili stuffed with a light cheese crab filling, battered, and fried. They were excellent especially when combined with the sweet and sour sauce. Hibiscus Gose, a hibiscus flower beer made by Widmer, was the current special craft brew. It has the anti-oxidant rich hibiscus taste without the sugary back-up you find in the Mexican hibiscus beverage, Jamaica. Pretty much everything is half price for Happy Hour and the chiles (16 in all) were only $4. The chicken skins and cauliflower appetizers that our neighbors had looked incredibly good. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant which you don't always find in Mizner Park. My first recommendation for Happy Hour in Mizner Park is Kapow!

Right off the bat - kapow is the best place I've been to in all of Mizner park! I've passed by it a dozen times a d kept saying "I need to go here!" Finally, I planned a little night out with 4 of my close friends plus the wifey and finally made it happen! Kapow is definitely unique. The huge stunning mural on the wall is just the start. The dishes have a flair and utilize some Sweet and spicy flavor combinations that really work as composed dishes. Additionally, the bar menu has fantastic hand made cocktails and a vast beer selection. The service at kapow! Was a huge win. Our bartender was really attentive to our party of 6, he was quick to refill your drink order, remembered our names, and was knowledgable of the entire drink menu. By the end of the night we ended up on a first name basis with him. Also, our server was fast, friendly and funny - the 3 F's but in a good way. Now for the food... Because we were a big party- we all checked in and got a freew order if wok charred edamame. This is a MUST! The edamame was by far the best edamame I've ever had! Wok charred, with some soy for salt, plus some garlic made them super tasty all my friends were basically licking the bowl. After reading our friend Julie T's elite review we had to follow her recommendation on the shrimp dumplings which were definitely soft, came with a full shrimp inside and were steamed perfectly - they went well with just a little soy. Afterward, my wife went with the shrimp ramen and I went with the soy chicken ramen. Both were well portioned and had a healthy portion of protein. The soup was tasty and filling and not overly salty which was my fear, so all together it was pretty good. Although coming from NYC- we've seen some better ramen and pho, kapow was on the level! A must if in boca!

My parents took me out tonight while we were on our end of summer vacation. The decor was hip and the atmosphere loud, which I enjoy because I tend to cry every now and then. It's a baby thing. The chicken wings were great and the mushroom buns were tasty. The stand outs of the night thou were the fried chicken skins(green bean sides that might just be better than the chicken) and the steamed Pork buns. Pork Ramen was also very good. Our server was very attentive and super knowledgable. He rattled off description after description of each menu item. My Dad sucked down a Prickly Pear Margarita and seamed to really enjoy it. He followed that up with a Jalapeño Margarita, all I can say is the face he made after tasting it was priceless. It looked like steam was coming out of his ears. Maybe a bit too spicy for him. Overall we had a great night. The restaurant was fun, food and service were both great and no one minded me watching cartoons on my iPad.

Kapow is a cute little restaurant. Every time I've been there the service has been great. You have a choice between sitting inside or outside. The menu lists food you don't find at most Asian style restaurants. There are several Ramen noodle soups including a vegetable ramen with tofu for vegetarians. My friend had the skirt steak with mashed potato and said it was delicious. I love their Happy Hour. They discount their drinks and appetizers. I especially enjoyed the edamane and the dumplings. I hear the sliders are very good also. It can get noisy when the restaurant is crowded.

BOCA SKEWERS! Awesome boutique Armenian Restaurant Located across the street from Fabulous Lord and Taylor, the restaurant is family owned and the food is unique and delicous. Started of with an appetiser of Baba Ganoush made from organic eggplant! Entrees were Gyro with "sweet rice" (made with honey and a salad and Lamb Shank with the same sides. Service was very good and the staff very friendly. It is worthy of a visit! Go to boca-skewers.com for the menu and location details!

In all honesty my first Kapow experience was when I stumbled over to their bar drunk from The Dubliner (which is just across) and was in shock an Irish Bar had dumplings because in my drunken stumper I thought I was still at the Dubliner. A few weeks later my friend had me meet her at Kapow to grab dinner and when I arrived a lot of things from that night came back to me; The Dubliner does indeed not sell dumplings but this place sells some fire ones! We ordered the rock shrimp tempura which are tasty little shrimps with this sweet/spicy sauce on top, more dumplings, and pulled pork steamed buns which were equally delicious. Since then I've been going back a few times a month and have probably tried about everything on the menu and love it all. My stand outs are for sure the bacon brussels sprouts and cauliflower, the street tacos which have a ridiculous awesome sriracha aioli sauce, pretty much all their daily specials and obviously the dumplings. They also have a Sunday Brunch now from 11-3pm with bottomless mimosas for $15, these killer breakfast rangoons and wait for it, a breakfast spring roll with eggs, bacon & cheese. They also have other regular brunch items with a little Kapow twist and I friggin love it. The atmosphere is always laid back and the service is great. The menu items are a little pricey but I mean it is in Mizner. Overall, this place is the tits ( . ) ( . )

This place is a gem in boca. It's down to earth, atmosphere is very chill and selection of good and drinks is on point. The beef and prom steamed buns are a must. If you are looking for a tapas place that isn't traditional this is your place. Nothing but good things to say about this place. Oh and the service is excellent the cooks wear these cute black top hats.

Went with four people the skirt steak was unreal as advertised. Nice atmosphere and good service however the pad Thai tasted like packaged ramen with peanut butter sauce on it. My buddy didn't like it and sent it back. Chicken fried rice is average -good glaze on the chicken however rice is a little over cooked. Pleasant surprise- beautiful bathrooms at this place if you need to go.

If you are going to come here, make it during happy hour. They have beyond incredible specials. Appetizers for $4 and drinks for $3. You have to order the brussel sprouts and edamame here. The ramen soup is awesome. Love the hipness of this place. They have a few different sauces on the tables and a ton of chopsticks so don't worry if you drop yours. Come with a group and try a few different dishes. The staff is all friendly. Great atmosphere for a date night.

Met a friend for dinner and had the best small plates...we shared 4 plates during happy hour and all were delicious , especially the shrimp dumplings and tempura asparagus. Outstanding service as well.

I definitely want to come for the happy hour/lunch menu. Had great experience. Ordered the Roasted Cauliflower and Brussels Sprouts (bacon on the side), Spicy Tofu Yaki Soba, (my friend got Chicken Pad Thai), Bourbon & Branch Seasonal Cocktail, What's Up Doc Seasonal Cocktail, (my friend got the New Fashioned Cocktail) and my favorite of the night; some shots of Moonstone Coconut Lemongrass Sake! Great atmosphere and super friendly wait staff.

Kapow! is an awesome hang out with incredibly personal staff, a constantly rotating selection of craft beers and some of the best modern takes on Asian classics that I've ever had. The Gyoza are Ichiban! The best part though are the staff. They genuinely want to get to know you and make your experience about more than just having some food and drink. They focus on the fun and everything else just comes to life. If you go to one place to eat or drink (or both!) in Boca it should be Kapow!!

We go to Kapow sometimes on date night, and love it! I remember going there pregnant and the bartender did an amazing alcohol free frizzy cocktail that was out of this world! I usually order noodles and some veggies on the side, the Brussels sprouts are delicious! the décor is very funky and fun, and the open concept is great!

Interesting little place. The menu looked very intriguing. We tried the following: -Chicken wings -Edamame -Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts -Shrimp ramen -Shrimp shumai -kids chicken with fried rice While everything looked great and was presented nicely, the overwhelming feeling I had for the food was "Meh". Everything (with exception of shumai) needs just a bit more flavor, salt, spice, acidity, something. The ramen looked great and was the best thing we tried, but even that was no flavor sensation. The service was good, the decor is cool, and the place is small and loud. I guess the name "Kapow!" conjured up a kick of flavor, which the restaurant did not deliver.

Um, I wish I lived in Boca again so I could go to this place over and over again. But then I'd be broke as a joke. After much recommendation some friends and I went here on Saturday night this past wknd. Now when I think of the name Kapow! I think of the old school episodes of Batman with Adam West with Pow!, Bam!, Kapow! blasted across the screen but I don't think it's the theme of this restaurant. We didn't get to step inside because it was such a gorgeous night and decided to dine on the patio. The first thing I noticed was the drink menu artfully decored with a jug marked with 3 X's that made me go back to my days of living in West Virginia. Second thing was the huge cup full of chopsticks set in the middle of the table. Good thing they ended up moving it off the table after giving us each a set because I would have swiped some! Our server was prompt and knowledgeable but wasn't that personable and didn't go out of her way to give exceptional service (it's a Boca thing). Truthfully I didnt get her name but just remember her tattoos. We started with the rock shrimp tempura after one of my friends said she tried it a few weeks earlier and then I knew why the name of this place is Kapow! --it was packed with flavor! The sauce is a dynamite sauce with a little more punch than normal. We split this between four people and it was enough to satisfy our palate until our entrees came. Their menu was a mixture of Korean, Thai, Chinese and Japanese items with a little flare which I guess is technically called fusion (horrible because I'm a foodie but don't know what fusion means!). Anytime I see pad thai on the menu, I must order it but decided to go in a completely different direction and bask in the atmosphere with the seared scallops in a green curry sauce. Holy F*^&(( my mouth batman! Kapow! isn't kidding when it comes to their entrees--the scallops were seared to perfection with a mild yet flavorful green curry sauce spooned along the plate. It was perfect because even though the curry was sublime, it didn't overtake the power of the freshly seared scallops. I took delight in every single bite of the dish and was a little depressed when it ended. I almost came here again the following day but didn't want to possibly ruin the experience with back to back visits in which the latter could be a let down. Suffice to say, the next time I'm in Boca, Kapow! will be one of the places I demand to go back to!

Cute small cozy place! Cheap price and food taste is fair enough. I think this place is good for happy hour.. $3-4drink.. $5-7appetizers. Do not expect tractional asian restaurant... More like fusion asian american restaurant.

Despite this places inherent trendiness, I couldn't help but absolutely love it. Sat outside at the bar facing the AWESOME tattoo inspired mural inside, bartenders were great servers and music was killer... Although, not as killer as the wok-charred edamame which was so delicious I couldn't help but eat it ALL while it was still scalding. That was sort of a trend for the whole meal... Pad Thai, pulled pork buns, and gyoza recommended by the maker of our delicious drinks. Couldn't get enough.

Really tasty food - really loved the kapow burger! Service was outstanding. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and given a nice table. Daniel, our server, was a very personable guy who made suggestions about the drinks, etc. and apparently really loves his job because when we asked about other locations, he told us about them all! We will definitely be back!

Been here for happy hour on Thursday and over the weekend with my family. Great happy hour specials. They have the best skirt steak. I would stay away from the ramen, wasn't a fan. I've heard the pad thai is good, so I ill try that next time (w/ steak of course)

I have been eating here for two months now. They have a variety of menu items. I can always try something new. The ribs, the korean burgers, and tartar, I highly suggest. Even if you don't like asian food, I highly recommend it. Their happy hour has a superb selection. Cocktails: All I have had are great! I am still making my way through. I can't remember the ones I tried, but it's worth to taste your way through their cocktail menu. Maybe a rum puch, and the "rootbeer" Very vibey, great atmosphere. The open kitchen smells great.

I'm keeping this review short. Dined here with my co-workers for lunch; I truly enjoyed the refreshing iced mint tea in place of regular iced tea. I ordered the shrimp udon, which seriously lacked flavor. I wouldn't order it again. My co-worker had to pile on soy sauce on his chicken fried rice, again, stating it lacked flavor. Another guy in our group had the pork ramen - once more, lacked flavor. The service is friendly, the place is nice to try out, but I wouldn't say that I crave to return to Kapow! anytime soon.

Kapow! sounds like it should have pop. It was more of a flop. They are trying for foodie hip with an upscale noodle bar that is short on noodles and long on attitude and bar. If you want real noodles, try Joy up in West Palm. Kapow's dish renditions, from sides to the most underwhelming noodle dishes, have a sameness to them. They rely heavily on soy sauce/salt as a flavoring of just about everything. Servers were good and the bar is deep, so they pick up a star for each. The food would have left them with a one star rating for what it is. Apple's original ads said: Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. If you want sophisticated noodle bar, GET BACK TO BASICS. I can get better noodles at Asian 5-Spice on Yamato that are the real deal. Send your chefs to China for a week or two of inspiration. The food as it is now is salty trendy THUD, not KAPOW!

Love the location! I appreciate the liveliness of the restaurant and prime location (right in the middle of Mizner Park). Our waitress was phenomenal. She was attentive, friendly, bubbly, and gave excellent recommendations. We ordered the gyoza and tacos for appetizers and they were DELICIOUS! Unfortunately, the entrees were alright and did not meet our expectations after the amazing appetizers. Our drinks were also not the greatest, not sure if it was an off day for the bartender. Next time we'll probably just orders tons of appetizers, but all in all a good experience! I'll definitely be back!

Kapow! Noodle Bar is a restaurant located at the oh-so ritzy Mizner Square in beautiful, downtown Boca Raton. The specialty at Kapow is the combination of ramen and udon noodles, Asian inspired dishes such as pork buns and crispy beef, as well as a large selection of fresh, hand-made cocktails. For this review, I will refer to my one and only visit on a Saturday night. When I arrived at Kapow, the hostess was all smiles and promptly brought us inside. The decor is dark and the whole atmosphere is edgy and industrial. A large, beautifully detailed mural sits across from the bar. There is ample seating for the size of the property. Kapow is a dark-lit, chill hangout spot. The service crew is young hipsters and college students, which fits the ambiance of the restaurant. The menu is a great assortment of Asian/Korean dishes as well as many Ramen and Udon bowls. Serving up favorites such as Pad Thai, Bibimbap, and Pork Buns (my kryptonite), you'll be sure to find something you like. Although I was not drinking that night, I was very intrigued by the drink menu. Next time I visit I would like to try a Daddy's Root Beer Float (Organic root liquer/ natural root beer/ half & half) or a Mom's Calling (Caorunn gin / cucumber/ strawberry lemon juice/ simple syrup). They also serve up a seasonal drink menu. The handcrafted cocktails seem to be a flagship at Kapow, so a revisit is definitely in my future! My service was somewhat timely and did the job, but was not particularly friendly. I ordered the Pulled Pork Buns and the Crispy Beef and the person accompanying me had the Shrimp Udon. The Pork Buns were plated wonderfully, but the pulled pork itself was forgettable and I feel like I should have got four buns instead of two. My Crispy Beef was tasty and I was glad the beef was legitimately crispy but my only gripe was the citrus glaze. I thought it was overly tangy with little or no spice, and kind of detracted from the savory beef. I also had way too much rice, and the abundance of glaze made the center soggy. I cannot completely vouch for the Shrimp Udon but I tasted a couple spoonfuls and the broth was absolutely delicious. Yet, I did notice the bowl wasn't piping hot when it came out and it was only lukewarm when I tried it after a couple minutes after being served. At any respectable Asian noodle place, the bowls come out with a temperature akin to the seventh circle of hell and stay that way for a while. Don't ask why, but that's just how noodles are done and done well. In all seriousness, I don't think I had nearly as much as I could have experienced at Kapow, but my review stands. I'm not particularly sold on the concept of the restaurant. The last thing I would like after a bowl of ramen or any food with lots of spices is a fancy cocktail, but that's just my personal digestive tract talking. This restaurant will need a revisit, and a review update as well once I have a bowl of ramen and one of their cocktails. But for now, check out Kapow, it's a awesome experience and is definitely a place you won't forget with a menu that begs for you to come back.

If you're looking for that traditional Asian comfort food that you know so well...than this isn't it. The "check-in on yelp and get half off fried rice" was really sloppy and mushy. The pork ramen was OK but definitely not worth coming back for. The vibe is young and hip but the food was a huge miss (for me). I'd much rather hit up a traditional Thai, Japanese, Chinese or whatever style restaurant and I eat Asian food of all kinds all the time.

I have been to this place two times for dinner now. I really wanted to like this place. I mean the menu items look fairly unique and the atmosphere is chic. But all of the items are average at best - I tried everything from the ramen noodles to the sliders to the pad Thai. The only saving grace is their edamame. And their drinks are average too. For their prices, I expected much more. I will not be going back. There are just too many other Asian restaurants in east Boca that are much better.

Kapow is in a great location and has very good customer service. They really do treat their guests well. However, their entrees are not that great; especially for the prices. In my opinion, their appetizers are better than their entrees. This is a great place to hangout with friends grab a couple drinks and eat an appetizer, but to sit down and have dinner it's not that good.

Went here twice. First time was awesome! I'd recomend the pad thai and sweet potato fries. The second time however we ordered a dish we saw on the online menu, however they informed us the no longer serve that item. it would be nice to keep those things updated!. The meal was not good shrimp was flavorless and rock hard. We did't complain because it was edible but would never order that item again. Overall the food is ok and they have a good happy hour menu.

Kapow! Noodle Bar was a surprise hit in Boca--really good food (the empanadas and the red curry shrimp stand out), really good local beers on tap, and great service. And even though it's basically in an outdoor shopping mall, sitting outside was relaxing and breezy. I'll definitely be back next time i'm in the area.

Never been to Boca before, but I came in town for Parent's weekend at FAU. On the spur of the moment we decided to grab an early dinner here, and so happy we did. We started with the gyoza. Perfect texture, tasty filling. The chili sauce was a tad on the sweet side, but that was a small issue compared to the wonderful dumplings. My son had the cod, and I had the Signature Pad Thai. The fish was perfectly cooked with an appealing side of fresh vegetables. My noodles were just right, not the pasty mess that sometimes happens with Pad Thai. The portions were large, and much too good to leave behind, so we got a to go box, though both dinners were finished before the night was out. It's a tad on the pricey side, but other than that, great service, great location, great food.

Kapow! has a special place in my heart for a variety of reasons. I remember when it was just a twinkle in the eye of my dear friend Vaughn. I feel a kinship with this place as Vaughn was kind enough to consult me on logo and concept design. But enough about me let's talk food and drinks. My favorite cocktail by far is the Jalapeno Margarita. It washes down the Wok Charred Edamame nicely. I've eaten everything here and my least fav is the Ramen, but that's just because of the sheer amount of 'ramen' I've eaten living in New York on a shoestring budget (oh and in college). A note on the bathrooms: any place that has those Dyson Dryers is a-mazing.

  • Renee Y.

They have a unique menu with unique favors, but the quality isn't there in the details. The empanada wontons weren't fresh or crispy, and the ribeye in the tacos was extremely tough. Also, the veggie dumplings were very bland. The hostess and waitress were good though. It had an unique ambience, but the food was mediocre. A disappointment.

This place has become an absolute favorite Friday Night Happy Hour spot. Fresh asian fusion, great beer selection and attentive, friendly service from the whole staff. The menu is diverse without being overwhelming and you're sure to find something you'll like. The place features trendy asian-themed murals on the walls, and an indoor-outdoor layout that lets you enjoy fresh air whether you choose to sit inside or barside in the courtyard. If you are at the bar, ask for Greg. The guy has a great knowledge of the constantly rotating beer selection and is happy to help you find exactly what you are looking for. You can tell he enjoys being there, too. If you grab a table, ask for Jerome. The guy is constantly there, working his tail off, is handy with a menu recommendation and is always helpful. Super attentive and very friendly. Everyone is, really, but these two guys have earned shout outs. The food is flavorful and fresh and I have yet to find a menu item that I didn't enjoy. Personal favorites include the Roasted Cauliflower and Brussel Sprouts, Pan Seared Gyoza, Steamed Buns, and the Skirt Steak. The staff does everything they can to make your stay comfortable. When my happy hour party started to get rained on, they picked up our long outdoor, barside table and moved it into the breezeway so we could enjoy our stay and keep dry.

The food was great and our server was fantastic! We ordered small plates and one Asian bun. The edamame is a must and I was inspired to make this at home based on how they made it. The Korean Bun was my favorite of the night although the meat was rare. The sweet potatoe fries were also delicious and the sause that comes with it is creamy and adds a ton of flavor. Ask for more sauce though because there was much of it and I could eat it by the spoon full. The ribs weren't special but the other dishes made up for it. The broccoli and cabbage was good but the bacon in it was what made the dish worthwhile. I wish I could remember our servers name because he was truly outstanding. It started with a J though! The food he recommended to us(the edamame, the Korean Buns, and the fries) were the best of the night, and he must had a lot of patience to be able to deal with our indecisiveness!

how could this place be so bad!!! i was so looking forward to eat here. of all the great review i found this place to be a let down big time 1 rock shrimp salty!! 2 wings salty!! 3 Ahi poke OK!! we all order 3 bowl of ramen super salty!!!! all coming from the same broth. the broth was sitting in one of those 5 gallon soup warmer that should explain why it was so salty... its sad that the waiter even realize that it was bad he wes nice to take one of them of the check but still this place had everything going for it nice space cool bar great people whose work very hard to please customer but its hard to do when the food is this bad

Great place for drinks. It's small but I love that half the bar is accessed from outside of the restaurant. It's right next to the Irish pub so patrons of both places intermingle. Never had any food here so review is based on ambiance, service and location.

We had a surprisingly good time, and good meal here. Beef street tacos good, not great, same with the tuna poke. Fiancé got tempura asparagus, pretty routine dish, but the dipping sauce was creative. The most original, best executed dish was the roasted brussel sprouts with cauliflower, in a balsamic/soy/citrus glaze. Their vanilla spring roll dessert could have single handedly made this a 5 star review. do not leave without that. Craft cocktails are serious, bulleit rye, vanilla, and dehydrated apples that have been rehydrated in whiskey...? Hum, yes please. Nice experience, wish they would have told us our reservation was an outside table, self parking is almost impossible. Some portions small, but decent value.

Kapow! Cur-runch! Zowie! Kapow! Was really fun and very un South Florida. The atmosphere is very hip, with a cool urban vibe. You would expect to find it in Miami's Mid-town or Ft. Lauderdale's Hamershee District, not up-scale Mizner Village. Everything is served either family style or small plates. We had Asian buns, sashimi salmon and ahi tuna, noodles and an amazing medley of brussels sprouts, cauliflower and bacon. We will definitely go back.

I have been a HUGE fan since the opening but visited a few weeks ago and was really disappointed. The tempura was soggy and the broth for my udon was flavorless. The most interesting/disturbing part were the dozens of gnats flying all over the place and on the walls on the inside which we were told were "normal"... Ummm I've lived in Boca over 12 years and I have never experienced this before.

Kapow is one of those places that is worth driving to. I have only gone their on off-peak hours, so I can not say what it is like during those time, but every experience I have gone has been great. The staff is always friendly and the food is always amazing. If off during the weekday, I highly recommend relaxing at the bar for great drinks and enjoying the moment. I have had both great food and some real disappointments, but I believe it was more about we ordered than what they are advertising. The steamed buns have always been delicious, as are items like the crispy beef and sandwiches. Drink wise, every cocktail I have had there has been amazing. They have comped me before and also taught me things I didn't know about cocktails and drinks. They always have a rotating tap so know I will always be happy. If you never been you should definitely make the journey.

Kapow! is very good. The menu items are creative and tasty. I was hesitant to go at first because there online menu scared me off a little. I went anyway and my entire party enjoyed themselves. I would recommend giving them a shot. They often have deals and coupons online you can find.

Located on the northwest side of Mizner Park, with outdoor seating between it and the Irish pub to the immediate north. Trendy music, trendy decor, even trendy stainless steel-fixture restrooms. I had the Vegetable Dumplings and Vegetable Noodle Bowl. DISCLAIMER: I have very little experience with noodle shops. Dumplings - 5$ : serves 4 pieces, each a bit larger than a matchbox/hot wheels toy car. Pan-seared. Paired with garlic soy sauce. I like the dumplings, they were savory. I think a ginger soy sauce would have been better instead of the garlic, however. Vegetable Noodle Bowl - 12$ - mushrooms and bok choy with ramen noodles in a nice serving of broth, topped with tofu slices. At first, I thought this broth needed salt, but I found that I liked the subtle flavor, it was not offensive and I didn't feel compelled to squirt in a gallon of soy, plum, or hot chili sauce. The mushrooms were light, and the bok choy was fresh. Some of the ramen came clumped in a couple of thumb-sized tight-packed knots which was slightly annoying, but overall I enjoyed the food in this first visit enough that I'd come back to eat here again on a regular basis. Waiting staff was friendly and attentive. I dined at the bar. One negative was that the bar is two-sided, where the other side is outside. I caught some occasional whiffs of cigar smoke, but obviously your mileage may vary in this regard.

Kapow! I went there for the first time a few days ago for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see a menu with a lot of items you wouldn't expect to see in Boca Raton. I sampled the duck confit steamed buns, the tongue, the beef tartare, and the edamame...everything was delicious, but my favorite was a toss up between the steamed buns and the beef tartare. I'm already thinking about going back to try the pork belly though. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water a little. The craft beer selection was also pretty solid. One of the owners, Vaughan, stopped by our table to see how our meal was and told us they were getting a few more limited edition craft beers in as well. Between the owner stopping by to check on us and the general pleasant service at the restaurant I was a big fan. For the area (Mizner Park in Boca Raton) the prices were reasonable. If you're used to getting your Asian comfort food in a hole in the wall in a strip mall, Kapow! is going to be a different experience. It's a pretty posh little spot with a chef who has won some serious awards. They didn't have any specials going on while we were there, but they apparently have quite a few throughout the week including food and drink happy hour prices. I would definitely recommend Kapow! to anyone who likes rich, delicious food, wants to branch out their palate, or just wants to grab a quality beer and people watch...

Edamame was really tasty. I had a Korean slider and it wasn't bad but not much in the way of a Korean flavor. It was more like a typical slider. We also tried the Pad Thai, Red Curry shrimp and shrimp udon. Red curry wasn't bad but the other dishes not very flavorful. Service was excellent. Food just ok. Would I go back again? Probably not.

I absolutely loved Kapow!! I live in San Francisco which has an over abundance of Asian restaurants. So I typically try to avoid the cuisine when I'm traveling. But Kapow was really great and definitely a place I'll frequent when visiting Florida. To start, the owners did an amazing job with the decor. The artwork is amazing and they made tremendous use of a small space. There is also outdoor seating which is always an added benefit. The menu is short & simple, but authentic. The ramen dishes are a good size and can definitely be shared by a couple people. The shishitou peppers (one of my fav dishes) was DELISH! And the Korean BBQ steamed buns were awesome! I especially love that the steamed buns were served open, as opposed to a super doughy, carb overload mess. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the wine list has very good picks in the $6-9/glass range. The staff looked like they were enjoying themselves and very friendly. Kudos to Kapow!

So I got take out. I got some for lunch tomorrow too. The place was cool, had a good vibe to it. You could tell the management cared, as the manager was delivering food to the guests. They have a fantastic floating bar, but from where I was sitting, I didn't actually see much premium spirits other than the tequilas and a few vodkas. From my line of sight, I couldn't find one premium whiskey, rum, gin, and for those who know what I'm talking about, no premium Scotch. They do have several beers on tap too. Pork Bun: It was hard to not eat, before giving you the photo. Smelled great, tasted even better. Those who can't stand spicy stuff shouldn't have this, but it's spicy enough for you to enjoy it. Presentation was good too. Pork Gyoza: It was good, maybe I waited too long. I bet these would be great at the restaurant. You can tell they've perfected the heat and timing on the stove thing. But anyway I'd recommend you get this also. Chicken Skins: This isn't at all what you'd expect from a place that seems to have great food and a great menu. I don't know about you, but I expected your everyday lookalike to a chicharon (hi 305), but it came out like these, big slabs of pale-looking bird skins... and if there's anyone out there who loves these things, I'd say, really, you're going to die from a heart attack, because there's not a hint of anything healthy in there, and it's the pure antithesis to something that "gives life." Sorry guys, this stuff was so gross. Saltier and fattier than anything. I hope they take it off the menu, cuz it's not cool to give people a coronary. The Wings: this was interesting, but not remarkable. I would definitely order this again when I want wings. They're not tiny, but they're not huge either. See photo!! So, these guys got everything going on well, except for that one thing. But yes, I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

I simply don't understand the high ratings. Ate at Kapow with my mother and grown daughter and we all walked away unimpressed. We ordered the sautéed string beans which were more charred than sautéed ( a taste my daughter doesn't like) and certainly not how the dish was described. Otherwise they tasted like pure soy sauce. We had the sweet potato fries ... Think steak fries on steroids! They are described as dressed in spiced brown sugar with a siiracha sour cream sauce. There were no discernible flavor besides brown sugar. I love spicy foods and kept tasting the sauce hoping I would find some. The steamed buns were ok. Initially we were going to order a main dish but obviously didn't. With all the good restaurants in Boca no need to try Kapow.

Creative and delicious I had their signature Pad Thai, which was great, they also had a soup spoon with the spicey sauce so that you can put it on at your own discretion and get more of it if necessary. Definitely a large portion of food. Also had there Key West Killer, which was a creative way they made liquored up lemonade. They have a wide variety of cocktails and have daily menus for them as well which is cool. Great service as well!

I like it. Cool vibe. Good food. Unique take on many asian dishes. Shared several small dishes. Liked the empanada wonton, shrimp tempura and the pad thai. I'll be going back!

After having tried their "Yelp award winning" steak tacos at a special Yelp event which weren't favorable in my opinion, I decided to try the restaurant one afternoon. My husband and I opted to sit outside and the only table available was really dirty and sticky. The waitress didn't even offer to wipe it down. We sat down anyway. After discussing the menu for a good 15 minutes as we weren't entirely sure of it, we decided to order the 4 piece Empanada Wontons as our appetizer. It was good. My husband loves wings and ordered the Vietnamese wings and he actually enjoyed it. But I didn't quite care for the fish sauce that was spread on the bottom of the plate. A bit off putting in smell when you put chicken on top of it. For myself, I decided to go with the Chicken Lettuce Wraps that has chicken and shiitake mushrooms tossed in a chili peanut sauce. The chicken was really good, but the bibb lettuce that was brought with it on the side for you to make your own wraps were dirty. It was obvious that they didn't bother to inspect and rinse the lettuce leaves before bringing it to our table. There were bits of dirt and tiny rocks and tiny live bugs. Now, I don't mind it being FRESH, but I would rather be able to appreciate my own meal without the thought of bugs crawling around the restaurant. I tried to flag down the waitress but she was too busy catering to a bigger table of hipsters next to us. So I decided to use my own water and rinse the affected parts of the leaves. This whole lackluster experience left me wondering how and why did they really deserve the Best Taco award? The answer is a whole another story that I have yet to explain, but if you ever see me, ask me and I'll tell you.

BA BAM! KAPOW! BOOM! That is about right! Atmosphere is killer, buzzing with night life feeling, great music, lots of cool stuff to keep your eyes occupied. The best freaking pad thai I've had in a very long time. We didn't get to try the drinks but the bar crowd looked like they were enjoying it very much. My fiancé got the chicken fried rice and he said it was delicious. So many dishes that came out looked good and smelled even better. Perhaps our new spot before we hit iPic!

I absolutely love this place. I live up in NC now, but the last two times I've been down in SoFla to visit my parents, my mom and I have made it a point to dine here. Actually, last time I was in town for a week we ate here twice! I'm vegan and this place is very veg-friendly. There's a ton of already vegetarian and vegan plates, and many that can be modified to be so. We usually share 3-5 small plates, depending on how hungry we are. The tempura asparagus, wok-seared edamame, and mushroom steamed buns/sliders are probably my absolute favorites, but the buffalo cauliflower and seared brusells sprouts and cauliflower (sans bacon) are pretty spot on as well. The service is usually very efficient and attentive, without hovering. Honestly, this place is great and I can't wait to go back next time I'm in town.

I hate giving this place 3 stars because i absolutely love the food, I think it's great and unique. My problem with this place is the freakin' service! The staff is always kind, but the wait times for food and drink are too long for me to enjoy. I usually just sit at the bar because i feel like its just that much faster. Anytime i sit outside, i notice that ive been waiting for a while for food and drink. Regardless, i still come here often because the atmosphere and crowd are great, and i cant get enough of their food. They are really pet friendly too, so its great to bring my dog! I love kapow and ill keep going there, but i hate the wait!

Warning: This review is solely based on their ramen. If you are here for ramen, then read this review. If you want to come here for their drinks and fusion food, read the other reviews. As ramen goes, I can understand why they are no longer calling themselves Kapow Ramen Bar. It just doesn't cut it on so many levels. I was here a month ago for Sunday brunch and while everyone around me seemed satisfied with their bottomless bloody marys, a part of me felt like I should have gotten one to ease the utter disappointment in their ramen. Ramen, in my opinion, should be a symbiotic blend of noodles, broth, and extras (egg, vegetables, etc). I ordered the pork ramen and upon first glance of my bowl, it looks like they simply piled a bunch of bean sprouts to hide the ramen underneath. When I finally got to the ramen and broth (by ignoring the amounts of bean sprouts), I found the amount of noodles to be small and same goes for the amount of broth. The noodles themselves were meh at best and the broth extremely salty. I couldn't finish the broth due to the amount of saltiness. My boyfriend got the beef ramen, and was equally disappointed. So if you want ramen, I would go somewhere else. If you want tasty appetizers and drinks, read the other review. Hope this helps.

Beef tongue melted in my mouth! Sweet potato fries were sweet and soft. The kids enjoyed the Goyza. The tacos were great! They won the taco challenge sponsored by Yelp Events. The staff were really nice and turned on the heater lamps outside. The weather was cool and tranquil. Dinner was great in spite of my crying baby.

I want to like Kapow, I think some of their flavor profiles don't mesh well (like their fried rice) but overall, it's pretty good. Their drinks are pretty good too. Portions are a little too small for my liking.

I'm obsessed with both their brussel sprouts and cauliflower or their edamame. I literally didn't become a vegetable love until this restaurant showed me how truly good they can actually be. I was a little disappointed when they took the spicy margarita off the menu, I mean I use to go a few times a week and order this drink every time but regardless they have a great menu.

Really fighting myself on this review for Kapow, and I should really give them a pass on the food since they are labeled as fusion. Kapow uses Asian cuisine and throws French influences to create their signature dishes. A combination of the two influences should make for some satisfying plates since I love both styles. For starters we ordered the fire cracker shrimp, These were excellent, 3 jumbo prawns nice and crispy, paired with a sweet dipping sauce. My favorite dish of the night and I wish I could have had more of these. Citrus Glazed Ribs House-made orange sweet & sour, sesame seed, and citrus peel. These had a nice light flavor, but the ribs were not falling off the bone good. The sweet and sour sauce saved this dish. Ordered the Pork Fried Yelp - Korean BBQ Pork Fried Rice with egg, onion and scallions. I found it weird that fried rice was listed as it's own entree. Maybe we should have paired it with the shrimp and ribs. At least the serving for this dish was large. I haven't had ramen since I moved to Florida, so I was hoping a place like Kapow would blow my mind. Ordered the Roasted Pork Ramen - Slow-roasted pork, kamaboko, nori, soft boiled egg - I knew it would be a stretch that this would be made correctly but we've been searching for a place that was good enough to give us our fix. Sadly, this night wasn't going to be the night to find good ramen. I was disappointed in the flavors of the broth that had a salty bitter taste, doubtful this was an 18 hour broth. In addition the roasted pork was also heavy in salt that I did not want to finish the rest of the soup. The server asked if we wanted more broth, so I said yes thinking that maybe the soup would dilute the saltiness of the pork, sadly mistaken again. Service staff here is really friendly and attentive, the crowd and atmosphere is really lively especially with its outdoor seating area. When it comes to the food it doesn't hit the spot for me. Anytime I see Fusion I always hope to see the next culinary inspiration take place but it's with that expectation that the bar is raised much higher.

Cool atmosphere and tasty drinks but I didn't think the ramen was all that fantastic. We had the pork buns as an appetizer and those were pretty solid. I had the Kapow Sangria and my husband had some other mixed drink that he really liked. I don't really plan on returning. It wasn't bad and it wasn't good. I guess I just wasn't convinced. It was just a pretty meh experience honestly.

Where's the KAPOW? Went here on a recommendation. Maybe only two other tables being occupied at 5:30 on a Saturday. Dinner menu seemed to have some interesting items on it and we were excited to try some. We started with the tempura asparagus that came with two dipping sauces. One a thin Asian style standard favored sauce and the other that was supposed to be a cucumber habanero cream. Asparagus was cooked perfectly. Light hot crispy batter. I expected the cream sauce to have a bit of a kick but tasted like a sourcream and cream cheese mix. No spice at all. Next app was the Buffalo cauliflower. Again, thin crispy batter that was then dipped into buffalo sauce and served. Described as gochujang buffalo sauce but tasted like good ole Franks Red Hot to me. None the less it was tasty. But once again the dip, thyme-bacon bleu cheese, was so bland. My wife ordered steamed dumplings and rainbow salad. The dumplings came out way before the salad and I think were a little too steamed by the time the salad came as they were kinda mushy in texture. I ordered the short rib lo mein. When the main dishes came to the table the salad had a nice presentation. The dressing was tasty. The short ribs were presented a little strangely. Three dark chunks of boneless beef and gravy a top a small portion of thin soba noodles. The meat was tender and tasty however I was looking for some Asian favors in the meat and found none. The veggies were crisp but the noodles were pasty. There was a little bit more flavor with the noodles and veggies. Service was very good. Didn't try any of the drinks. Refills were a little slow as our empty glasses were passed by many times by our server. Probably a great place for drinks and apps outside but I think we will still be on the hunt for a good Asian Fusion joint.

I have been to Kapow several times now and it's becoming one of my favorite places to go in Boca. I LOVE the Dark and Stormy drink here. My fellow yelper friend Greshka P. introduced me to it and I have never looked back! It has ginger beer which I love, lime and rum. You get a free order of their edamame with your yelp check in and they are so good!!! They season them with soy and they are so delicious ... and FREE! I have tried several things off of the menu. The steak pad thai is absolutely amazing! Seriously.....it is really good!! So are the Citrus Glazed Ribs and the steamed buns. The restaurant is small but clean and the staff has always been really friendly. They have great happy hour specials as well. If you are in Mizner Park it is a great place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. You can sit outside and people watch as well.

I am definitely a fan of this place. I love their tequila drinks and happy hour specials. We decided to have happy hour here and try the special dish Kapow was offering for Order the Yelp. For the entire Month of Jan- Kapow will be offering Pork Fried Yelp! Arriving we decided to sit outside since the weather was perfect. I ordered a margarita and Pork Fried Yelp. I am assuming we were the first to order the special since the bartender was not sure what were ordering. However, the owner Vaughan was to the rescue. He was sitting next to us and we figured he was just a customer. When he heard what we were ordering he told the bartender it was on the menu and gave her instructions. He chatted with us for a bit. Have to say he was a nice and outgoing. Made us feel comfortable and welcomed. He also told us that the Pork Fried Yelp was $7 (50% off) when we checked-in with our Yelp app. I am a big fan of Pork and Fried Rice. Both combined was a dream come true! It consist of Korean BBQ Pork, fried rice with egg, onion and scallions. The flavor was amazing. I love the big chunks of shredded pork in the rice. The portion was big but we were able to share it and still get full from it. I hope they keep this item on the menu. I would definitely order it again! Bartenders were very friendly and kept the drinks flowing. This place is definitely a great place to come for happy hour, lunch, and dinner. Great vibe and great food/drinks. Make sure to check out the Pork Fried Yelp! You will not be disappointed.

I love Kapow! I've been here numerous times and plan to keep coming back. It has great happy hour deals, for both food and drinks, from 4pm to 7pm. Amazing food and great, friendly staff. This particular time, I came with friends for happy hour and to try the "Order the Yelp" special "Pork Fried Yelp". The deal is that, for the month of January they will serve you this delicious plate for half the price (which I believe is $7.00) with your check-in on Yelp. The plate is perfectly seasoned fried rice with egg, onion, scallion, and chunks of Korean BBQ pork. You must try this! It is full of flavor, once you have a bite you will not be able to stop, it's that good!! For a moment, since the deal had just started, the staff didn't know how to ring it up on the computer but, Vaughn, the owner, was sitting right next to us and immediately instructed them what to do and told them about the special. He then started talking to us, asked us how we knew about the "deal", asked questions about Yelp and told us he was eager to see what people think of the dish they're offering, maybe even consider adding it to the regular menu, depending on people's reaction. We told him he had our votes right after the first bite. It is really nice to see them take interest in these events and work with the Yelp community, and to see the management personally overseeing the process. It makes you feel good when you go to a place that really cares like that. I'm telling you about it with enough time to go try it, and the rest of their menu and drinks, including the best Dark & Stormy I've had so far... Again, I love Kapow! I think you will too.

After hearing from several friends and family members that I would love Kapow! I decided to finally give them a try. What really got me down there was this months "Order the Yelp" going on in South Florida. I saw pics of the Yelp fried rice and that sealed the deal that I had to get down there. The restaurant itself is super trendy and very clean. They had indie rock music playing and the staff was all pretty young. It definitely gives off the Hipster impression. If I was 21 I would have wanted a job here asap. Our server was extremely attentive and also knew when to back off. Since we had made a decent drive down we wanted to hang out for a little and visit which he was really cool about. There were 3 of us dining at lunch and we went with a few small bits and 2 dishes. Pork Gyoza- Nothing special. They were the same kind you would get from any Chinese delivery restaurant for $4.00 instead of $6.00. Not bad just not worth the money. Rock Shrimp Tempura- Not a fan. They are mini shrimp which I was expecting full size and the flavor was very bland. They had a nice presentation though. Vietnamese Wings- I wish we would have been informed that they were similar to coal fired wings. They were very black and dry with little sauce. I order wings anywhere they are offered and these might have been the worst ones I have ever had. Empanada Wontons- These were good. Perfectly fried and came with a tart dipping sauce. Yelp Fried Rice - Amazing A+ I looked at other Yelpers pictures and it's way better in person. It had large pieces of sweet pulled pork and a good amount of garlic flavor. All 3 of us said it was the best dish we had. I would make the drive down just for that. Korean Sliders- Ok . The meat was ground and very very pink inside but it had a decent flavor. Beef Ramen- Very good. The steak was juicy and the soup had a good beefy broth. The egg was sooooooo yummy. I'm a fan! During lunch all beer on tap is half off so I went with a chocolate porter but the server brought me a coffee stout instead. I kept it and I'm glad I did because it was excellent. I don't know the name because it's not what I originally ordered but I would get it again for sure. Food was ok and maybe my exceptions were a little high because of all the hype but the service was outstanding and the vibe was cool. Their drink menu looked amazing and I will be back to try some of their cocktails for sure. I hope they keep the Yelp Fried Rice on the menu because it was delish!

I came here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. It's a nice location in Minzer Park with some outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside. A note - their tables are metal, and when in the hot sun, are seriously incredibly hot! So be careful! Our service was amazing - our waiter was sweet, attentive, and informative. He was really accommodating to my friend who ordered her eggs benedict with skirt steak instead of pulled pork (a great decision). My dish - the Kapow Smash, was a really yummy potato pancake with cream cheese, scrambled eggs, and toast. As I am used to the overwhelming amount of food Pennsylvanians stick on a plate, at first the presentation in four corners of a square white plate fooled me into thinking it was a small amount of food. I was fooled - and indeed, it was plenty of food, in fact, the perfect amount. The eggs were cooked well, and the potato pancake was perfect. I would definitely come back for brunch. Best of all, they allow dogs! Which I find make for an enjoyable meal watching dogs walk by, even if I'm not about to bring my own dogs. The mojito green tea is amazing, and deserves it's own sentence. I'll come back for that alone.

My girlfriend and I revisited Kapow this past Friday for happy hour. After driving around Mizner for 20 minutes in search of a parking spot, I made it with five minutes to spare. I know this because our bartender reminded us somewhat rudely that we had that much time to order before happy hour was over. We each had a glass of wine and we put in two appetizers while we waited. Fortunately, that wasn't very long because as said bartender was handing us our drinks, the hostess came over to bring us to our outside table. Our adorable server, I must get better at remembering names, came over to our table right away to make sure we were settled. She brought over our appetizers and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. We decided to split the chicken Pad Thai and the Shrimp Ramen as Pad Thai is a universal favorite and the ramen was more of an experimental choice. I should tell you the appetizers we got were the wok charred edamame (always a stand out) and the steamed shrimp dumplings (I could probably pass on next time.) We told the server when we ordered that we were sharing both entrees so when she brought them to our table it was very sweet of her to offer to split them for us. We didn't initially take her up on her offer until we realized it may be difficult to split the ramen ourselves. We joked with her as this was her first time doing it at the table, or at all, but she was a sport. This is my second time ordering Pad Thai here and I have to say, compared to the first, this time was somewhat lacking. I'm not sure if it was because the restaurant was busy, but I found the chicken to be overcooked and dry. For anyone that's had the Pad Thai here, there are large strips of chicken in the dish so for it to be dry was kind of a bummer. I should have asked my friend was she thought, but considering I didn't love the Shrimp Ramen at all, overcooked chicken it was. Like I mentioned, the ramen was somewhat of an experimental choice and my friend, who tasted it first said it best, it was interesting. I just didn't love the flavor of it, but I will say on a positive note that the shrimp were huge and aplenty. I brought my left over ramen home to the hubs who also commented on the size of the shrimp and seemed to love the dish overall, so everyone wins. We finished our dinner with the vanilla cheesecake spring rolls as they are my friend's favorite dessert there. Eh, they were good and this is coming from someone who lives for dessert. I enjoyed them, just not sure it's something I'd re-order. They were small (the order is for three rolls) and I just didn't love the consistency of the roll or the taste of the cheesecake. I can't believe I just wrote those words, but it's true. Perhaps next time I'll hit Sloan's on the way out. I guess I'd give this visit back a 3 out of 5, but I will definitely be back for happy hour and/or dinner as I do love the restaurant overall.

Small place and had outside dining. I ordered the Dark and Stormy drink. It was such a surprise to see this on a drink menu. It was great, but expansive at $11. I ordered the yelp, "Korean BBQ Fried Rice". It was a large portion for $14 (only $7 with yelp check in). It had large piece of egg, scallions, and rice. Very tasty and had a little spice to it. It is loud in the restaurant. They have a single restroom for ladies. I was disappointed that the waiter did not mention the yelp to our table. They had a yelp sign on the bar, but nowhere did it say what the item was. Someone in my party wanted something with protein and the waiter recommended chicken fried rice. I don't know why he didn't promote the yelp! We were a large group of 20 and they did separate checks. I would defeinetly go back to try the happy hour with discounted drinks and apps.

Swoosh-swoosh-Swoosh!!! Thump, bump, KaPoWww and some more sounds which action heroes make.... So, I heard pretty neat things about this restaurant and they all are true. The food and flavor is very unique and different than your usual Asian cuisine. The steamed shrimp dumplings were amazing, they have a few sauces on the table so you can dip away. All I really need is a bit of sriracha sauce and I'm good and they did have it. I usually don't like sweet potato fries but wanted to taste something different, they were good but just a tad too sweet because of the brown sugar on them. But the sauce they brought was hellllo good :) We tried their red curry shrimp entree which is very unique with lychees. I truly enjoyed the shrimp fried rice which is not on their menu but they made them when I requested I did not want chicken fried rice. Overall, a great experience, I think next time I need to try their happy hour. Kapow you impressed me with your action hero moves ~

It was my first time at this Kapow! It was after an outdoor concert at Mizner and we were hungry. My friend wanted to go here so we did. It was pretty crowded inside so we sat outside. If you only read one thing on this review please note that the Edemame is to die for. They were the crispiest, tastiest and addictive Edemame I have ever tasted. Apparently the stir fry the things. WHAT!! Awesome!! They were really good. I had vegetable pot sticker and they were okay. No flavor really. But I have to wonder if that was because of..well you know. It was a bit crowded for me and the people around were boisterous and loud but maybe that is just the venue on a Saturday night.

$15 bottomless mimosas for brunch? Sign me up! This place is located in Mizner Park in Boca Raton, so you know the people, weather, and service is going to be as good as their food. We met up with my brother-in-law, his girlfriend, and some of his friends and we immediately knew that Kapow was going deliver. Their servers are in constant communication with each other and when one was busy getting the orders ready another server would cover the tables and refill our drinks. We never had an empty glass, nor did we have to look for our servers. I ordered the Skirt Steak and Eggs Hash and I was not disappointed! The eggs were cooked to perfection, the potatoes were seasoned just right, and the steak was full of flavor with the perfect amount of Soy. My wife had the Benedict Arnold which, IMO, was probably one of the best Eggs Benedicts I've ever had. The eggs were poached impeccably, the pulled pork was juicy, and the hollandaise sauce was definitely the cherry on top! There was a live DJ by the name of Sean there, and he definitely set the vibe. It was without a doubt one of the best experiences I've ever had in Boca.

The happy hour there is great! The appetizer list is extensive and the prices are great (during Happy Hour) otherwise I do think they are a bit on the pricier end. The Shishitou Peppers are a great deal, very tasty and large portion, highly recommended. We also really enjoyed the Wok-Charred Edamame and the various steamed buns, very tasty and worth it. The drink menu is also very nice and the drinks were enjoyable. We would definitely go back!

I regret coming here. You know why? Because I don't have one of these back home in DC. Big bummer... I hope they go big one day and open them here! It would definitely thrive. Anyway, the place is a small, hipster-ish place, but without being TOO hipster to drive you away! It's like you're in a classy comic book when you walk in. Our waitress was really helpful when she realized that I've never been there before. I really wanted to try to the Kiwi Caipiroska drink but they ran out of kiwis! Bummer. I got the sautéed green beans, pulled pork bun, and Korean sliders to start. Boy... Those green beans were GOOD. Lots of garlic - my favorite! I would order that every time I come back. The pulled pork bun was also delicious. It was very flavorful and juicy. I would skip the Korean sliders. They were on the bland side... Just okay, but I wouldn't order them again. I also got the special Pork Fried Yelp (pork fried rice) and that stole the show. Actually... I can't decide if the green peans, the pork fried Yelp, pulled pork bun, or the vanilla cheesecake spring rolls (will talk about that in a second) stole the show. That's how good this place is. Don't come here expecting traditional and authentic Asian food, but all of the food was cooked, seasoned, and presented well and that alone should make you come here. To end the night, I ordered the vanilla cheesecake spring rolls. OMG. Heaven. There was cheesecake stuffed inside a spring roll wrapper with brown sugar and you dip it into this banana-caramel sauce. Slightly pricey ($7 for two) but it was worth it. OPEN ONE OF THESE IN DC!! Please :)

Unfortunately I didn't even get inside the place. I'm sure the food is good but I wasn't able to eat. We got up front and the hostess told us we'd be seated next as there was no one in front of us and that we would be seated in about 15-220 min. They took our number and said we would be called when our table was ready. We thought it was a considerate thing to do since the only space outside where you could wait has tables and we'd be essentially hovering over people eating. So we walked around the shops and returned about 15 min later. As we walked up the place was much busier with more people waiting outside. Just as we walk up we see 2 people who weren't there before being seated in what probably should have been our table. Will never bother with this place again since that is just plain rude. We went to Max's Grille across the street where we were seated in a timely matter and treated much better than this place. Oh and we never did receive the phone call that our table was ready.

One of the best spots in Mizner Park by far. Their happy hour is one of the best in town with half priced apps and drinks. Normally there is a mid-twenties to late thirties crowd here regularly. Their food is great, drinks are made with fresh ingredients and they have some good craft beers as well. Only down fall is that it's a small inside and can get a bit tight and loud.

A recent trip to NY has made me slightly obsessed with noodle and Asian inspired dishes, so I was very exited to try Kapow. We had a pretty large group attend to help celebrate my birthday (21 people). No problems at all with making or confirming our reservation. The staff graciously helped store the platter of mini-cupcakes we brought for after dinner. Drink orders were the first line of business. Their specialty cocktails were hit or miss, but I can't hold that against them - it's all about personal taste/preference. One big issue - although we constantly asked for water (we were sitting outside and it was pretty warm out) we never had enough water for the table. Refills rarely arrived even was asked. Food... The small plates / appetizers are pretty tasty. With such a large group we tried many of the items available. Main dishes... Since this is a "noodle" place many of us ordered noodle dishes. I, as well as a few others, orders the roast pork ramen noodles. Presentation was spot on and looked very appetizing. Taste - blah. It tasted like someone burned a roasted pork and poured the juices over noodles. What's funny is that three of us described it exactly the same way, and 2 of us sent the dish back (which I NEVER do). I tried to salvage the noodle with different combinations of the sauces they have at the table, but failed. It couldn't be saved. The couple of people who kept their noodles did so because A) too hungry to care, B) drowned it with so much Sriracha they couldn't taste the broth, C) just didn't feel like sending it back. Like I just said, I sent my back and received the shrimp udon noodles as a replacement. This wasn't bad at all. Not fantastic, but pretty good. Service... I have been a server in the past and know it's not easy to serve a 20 person table. That being said... Basic necessities, such as water, should always be available. When the plates of food came out neither the server, nor the other staff, had any idea who's food was who's. Toward the end we asked for the cupcakes since it was getting late and some people were ready to leave, but it took 20-30min for our server to bring them out! Come on man! We asked multiple times! Anyway - doubt we'll ever go back

The grilled edamame they have for an appetizer is amazing. Pretty much everything in the appetizer portion is amazing. Also, I have had the soups and the pad thai and the servings are HUGE which is awesome. They also make an amazing ginger mojito!

This is a cool place! Eclectic which keeps it interesting. We shared Edamame Hummis, crispy green beans with garlic, and sautéed vegetables. They were all excellent and served fresh and hot. Our entrees were Bimibop(Korean), lamb chops, and salmon and they were cooked and presented perfectly. It was impressive how often managers came by to check on us and how attentive and polite the waiter was. We'll be checking in a lot here! Great spot! Truly Boca.

I've been to this place a few times. Service is always great. Food is made fresh to order. I have never been let down. Here you will find a fun environment, lounge music, great artwork. Happy hour specials are some of the best, you can try a lot for half the price. Have I mentioned that their specialty/seasonal drinks are to die for? Kudos to the mixologist they have on staff!!!! A true gem in mizner park. Please go check it out!

Took my mother here for a belated birthday lunch. We had the Vietnamese chicken lettuce wraps and short rib shumai to start, the lettuce wraps were fantastic! The shumai was a little strange with a crispy shell but the flavors were good. I ordered the sesame tuna udon and mom had the pad Thai. Both very tasty. The green tea they have has a nice refreshing mint flavor to it. Only downside is that the bar extends outside and it was a hot day so even inside it was a bit on the warm side.

Kapow is a great little spot in Boca. The restaurant is very different and unique. The menu isn't over whelming either. They have a fried chicken skin appetizer that is out of this world. Who doesn't like chicken skin?! The servers are very knowledgable and very attentive. Craft beer selection is nice, and always seems to be rotating.

Really wanted to love this place, I was so excited about the bim bim bap, since it is one of the very few restaurants who offers it. Anyways, we started with the cocktails, the spicy martini with a Jalapeño, not bad, not my favorite, then the special edamame one word SALTY :(. Then like I said I ordered the Bimbimbap and my husband ordered the Chicken ramen. 1. my bimbimpap didn't come sizzling, no egg and the chicken was just a boiled chicken breast zero flavor, I seriously added all the sauces they had on the table :( 2. Chicken Ramen BLAND! ... Now the service is a total different story, we had a great waiter. I've heard this place is great for happy hour. Don't think we'll be back.

Eclectic menu. Nice staff. Cool atmosphere. Not sure if I loved the food, or just had a really good time? It was one if those nights where food was not the focus, but rather, good company. And the Kapow staff was great, enabling us to have that great time.

Stopped in a little while back to take advantage of the happy hour specials. The prices are definitely right! I love the atmosphere of Kapow! The service was quick and attentive. I tried several of the items listed and was most pleased with the wok-charred edamame. My biggest complaint about all of the dishes was the saltiness. The roasted cauliflower and brussels sprouts were great until I started getting to the bottom of the bowl. The wings were not particularly unique. I enjoyed the pork gyoza and the edamame the most.

What a place!!! The food we had was full of flavor! We had all their buns on happy hour! Full of flavor! Loved it. I drove all the way from North Miami. I will definitely make this place a place to visit if around area.

3 1/2 stars. This may not be fair, but if you have ever been to Chinatown in SF Kapow has no chance of rising to the level of the most hole in the wall place in SF. It is not Kapow's fault because they don't have Chinese ladies out back making authentic dumplings, steamed buns and noodles. What Kapow does have is a good location, the watchful eye of a manager, decent servers, good cocktails and sake and, decent Americanized apps and entrees. Pad Thai was the favorite entrée. . " Close, but no cigar!"

Met a couple friends last week for happy hour. We just had drinks and appetizers. The value was good but the food was nothing memorable. We enjoyed ourselves but we are in no rush to go back and I'm not sure why this place gets so much hype. At the end of the night, I picked up the tab. A week later I check my credit card statement and I see that I was billed an EXTRA $30 on top of the bill and 20% tip I paid. I called Kapow to speak to a manager and never got a return call, had to call several times before I was connected with a manager. Manager said he would look into it and call me back. SURPRISE SURPRISE, I never hear back from him. Fortunately for me, I paid with my credit card and not my debit card. I called the credit card company and filed a dispute. They were able to see that the credit request from Kapow was $138 (that was my bill +20% tip that I agreed to pay), however, the final bill came through as a $166!!!! 24hrs later I received a message from credit card company that they had refunded me the difference, charged Kapow back the difference and the case was closed. DINERS BEWARE!!!! I will definitely not be returning to this place.

In the times I have been back, the staff has been super cool and accommodating in that When I got there around the time they opened for lunch, it was swelteringly hot out, and likewise I was basically melting all over the place. They directed me to the air vent, as well as the coolest table location and were totally cool about my acting like jerry seinfeld's mother. Also, really cool about making the cured salmon for me for lunch despite its elusive "dinner only" status. Way to please, guys. always worth every cent.

The food, atmosphere, and drinks are all amazing. Taco Tuesday is our favorite--we come during happy hour and for the $1-$2 tacos/buns. We go here weekly and have never had a bad experience. The brunch on Sunday is always delicious and packed, so get there early! Also--definitely go to Rebecca at the bar--she's the best :)

I don't have enough good things to say about Kapow - I love this place! The concept of Asian tapas is difficult to execute well, but they do an amazing job! They also offer 'flights' of wine and other liquors, which I always love to see on a menu. I've tried many of their small plates, and the winners are the beef tacos, green beans, cheesecake spring rolls, empanada wontons, etc!

I had Great hopes, for this place and so did my girlfriend. Im honestly so disappointed all I'm going to say is this place is over rated , the food lacks in flavor and I did try various items . If you want a good bowl of ramen go to GOBISTRO in Hollywood it may be far if you live in this area but honestly the journey for good food is always worth it. But let me say I really did want this place to wow me but it fell short and off a cliff

Had lunch from here! the beef tacos were very tasty and spicy!!! however the sweet potatos fries were absolutely full of brown sugar! disgusting and uneatable. Sweet potatos are already sweet why add a pound of sugar to them?!?!?! definitely you guys need another recipe for your sweet potato fries.

Though I had this place bookmarked for quite some time, I had not had a chance to head up this way and try it. I had heard great things though, as the reviews indicate, so after catching the Cesar Chavez movie this past Saturday, I thought this would be a great spot to have dinner, and considering it was open till 2 a.m., I thought there was no way my friend could get out of going here with me. We arrived to this area, known as Mizner, and lined up with condos, shops, and restaurants. Street parking is the only option, and you definitely need to watch the meter, as there is a designated person checking on every single car every 15 minutes, waiting for that forgetful person to slip up on replenishing the meter so he can issue a ticket. You have been warned! Kapow! (whose name my friend kept forgetting until I told him to think of Batman and Robin and punching the bad guys while "Kapow!" flashed on the screen), is located right next to the Dubliner, which can be a good thing and a bad thing. For me, it was a good thing, as they had a cover band playing some good tunes at the Dubliner, but for my friend, who hates crowds and loud music, it was a terrible way to spend a Saturday night. There was some interesting people watching, though they have yet some time to catch up to the ranks of the people watching on Lincoln Road. We chose to dine al fresco, as Kapow! is small inside and seemed full. We were seated quickly and made our selections: he got the roasted pork ramen, while I got the sesame tuna udon. As we waited for our meals, I decided to use the restroom, and as I walked in, I immediately regretted not bringing my phone or my camera. The last time I brought a camera into the bathroom, some woman talked me down about how perverted it is to take selfies in the bathroom, though I was just lugging my camera around as I had nowhere else to put it, so this time, I left it behind to avoid a confrontation with a self-righteous weirdo. There were some awesome wall murals in that bathroom depicting superheroes like Batman, Spiderman, etc., with dialog boxes like "Boom!" "Crash!" etc., and then another interesting item: the stainless steel toilet with a stainless steel bowl, and water tank, very unique. I debated coming back with a camera or phone to take pictures for my review, but got too lazy once I sat down and consumed my meal. As soon as I returned, dinner was served. My friend's pork ramen was okay, in his opinion. He thought it could have used more broth, as mine had a lot more broth than his. I'm not sure if I can take his opinion too seriously though, as he was embroiled in a texting battle with some weird, clingy girl, so I don't think he was very attentive and was just stuffing his face without pausing to savor it. I thoroughly enjoyed my tuna udon. I have to say, I find it funny that someone mentioned it was too "fishy" on their review...umm, last time I checked, tuna IS a fish and they DID use dashi broth (it's on the menu's description!), which is made with fermented bonito, so it only makes sense that the broth would taste like fish! I loved it. It had thick, udon noodles, cilantro, spicy kimchee slaw, and mung bean sprouts, which for some reason, I have always loved since childhood. I did have to add some sriracha as it wasn't hot enough for my taste, but that did the trick. The portions are huge, I barely managed to eat dessert (a creme brulee), so you probably should not order appetizers unless you plan to share them and an entree with someone else because the entree alone is quite filling (at least the noodles and ramen are). Crowds tend to be from the 20s-40s and dressed in all manners from casual to club wear, so don't worry if you're dressed too casual. I'd like to go again if in the area and try some of their other items. I'll be back, if I can help it!

Kapow, please forgive me for not trying you sooner. I don't know what I was thinking. You are worth the drive...every second of it! Came to Kapow after an event I had at the PGA Resort. On my way back down (I live in Plantation!!!) the wife and myself thought it was about time we tried Kapow! All of the great reviews couldn't be wrong....and they weren't! We came in during the early afternoon and the restaurant was busy, but not overwhelmingly packed. We sat down immediately and the waiter came over to take out drink orders. Now there was a Yelp Checks In offer for a free cocktail, but I decided on just water. We started with the Pulled Pork buns (brings two). Super soft buns with delicious tasting pulled pork inside! Loved it! Then we both had the same dish: Pad Thai with Churrassco! WHOA!!! The Pad Thai was delicious! The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Loved this dish, and my mouth is watering just writing about it! Look forward to come back and try something else, but I honestly think I will just end up ordering this again. We finished off with Cheesecake Spring Rolls. They were unique and delicious! DON'T SHARE THEM! There are only two and I PROMISE you will want to eat both! Now the service was great, very attentive server and all of the staff was always smiling but what I really loved about the restaurant is the theme. Although I am not a comic book aficionado, I loved the superheros that adorned the walls and even the bathroom. Gents, just a heads up the urinal in the bathroom is full of ice...apperantly ALWAYS. I jjust thought they were discarding of the ice...wrong!

For calling itself a noodle bar, it sure doesnt have a lot of noodle dishes. Maybe a small portion of my menu covered it. The waitress gushed about their ramen and home made broth, but the ramen was average at best, barely giving me any noodles; I had maybe 3 forkfuls before it was just a bowl of beef broth. The steak was good, but everything else was one note. If there's anything going for it, the bar is nice. Good selection and great service.

Kapow! I.love.Kapow. If you are in Boca GO NOW. Happy hour is amazing, Sunday brunch is a must. There is so much creativity in the kitchen and behind the bar. I have been a regular here since they opened and I am still blown away every time. Its so hard to pick my favorite item, but if I where on death row I would request the BBQ beef toung, I know, sounds crazy but you MUST try this! For happy hour I get the stuffed peppers. They have great beer (including local micro). My favorite cocktail is the leche Martin, my best friend and I crave it. I have made great friends with the amazing staff, and I always meet cool people at the bar. Seriously GO NOW. Also, if you are in the biz go on monday its 50% off everything. (P.S try the beef udon or the tuna ramen.so .good.)

I tried, really I did. I've been three times. I've sampled at least 4 dishes each time and a variety of beverages. Nothing was bad, nothing was terrible. But there was nothing that I thought was fabulous either. Nothing that made me say "I will order that again!" Maybe it was just too fusion-y for me. I guess I just prefer Chinese food to taste Chinese, Malay food to taste Malay and Korean to taste Korean. The food flavors here are robust, they just didn't seem authentic to me. Of course I would absolutely go again if friends wanted to dine there. I just would go with my expectations in check. By the way - I do realize I'm in the minority here, but I do feel that I gave it a fair shot and I am expressing my personal opinion. Yours, obviously, may vary!

By far the best restaurant in mizner park. If you plan on going for dinner make sure to have reservations as it is pretty intimate. The pad Thai was exceptional and the beef brisket was nice a juicy. The drinks/cocktails alone is reason enough to come here. Portions are just right. Don't plan on having any leftovers cause you'll want to eat every ounce of your delicious meal.

If you want to eat decent food in a high stress environment with inexperienced staff, in a place that obviously works hard to project a hip vibe, then Kapow is the place for you. I rate restaurants on the whole of the experience, not just the food. In one instance at this restaurant (last night), the hostess gave our table away - not once, but twice - to parties that showed up after us. As she so stated, "I forgot and spaced you guys out. Sorry." What would of, should have, been a 15 minute wait - turned into a 45 minute wait - and we ended up going somewhere else. She had failed to follow normal process in putting our name down - so, we were in no man's land. I have eaten here before, and the food is ok. I think Kapow is concerned more about image than substance. Food is a 3.0 rating - service is a 1.0 - ambiance is a 2.0 (I stopped "trying" to be cool years ago :). It is "hip" though (if the kids still use this phrase).

Fast recap: hipster american noodle bar. To walk you through the process I'll start with the unique restaurant logo, it makes you frel you're in a comics shop. Then you walk into a dark very amercan style loud music bar (if you are hosted to eat inside); you are sitted in a table right beside the next one, that way between the music and shame you wont be able to talk privately. All the waiters and waitresses are hipsters and ours was very friendly which goes perfectly along with the place. Now, the food its very good (just a little too salty for my taste), spicy, perfect quantity, very sharing like menu (so bring friends to taste the most of it). I gave 4 stars but maybe they deserve 3 for two reasons: 1) the ramen soup was more soy sauce than broth 2) the waitress that served our food (not our original friendly one) was very rude and unfriendly. But overall, If you're in Boca and want to eat in a unique style, this is a good place. PS: their drinks seem to be amazing, but we didn't try any. Now

Finally made it in here after wanting to for so long and I can honestly say I'll be back. It definitely lived up to the expectations. Our sever Rebecca was over the top amazing and spot on with all of her suggestions. From the roasted brussels & cauliflower, the bulgogi tacos, pork buns and ending with a delicious creme brûlée. The entire experience was just what we'd hoped for.

We decided to stop in Boca for lunch after spending the weekend in Palm Beach Gardens. We had heard fabulous things about Kapow, and decided it was time to give them a shot. Its was really easy to find and parking was available right in front of the restaurant. We were seated right away and our waiter came to greet us and take our drink orders. We had a long day ahead of us so we did not take advantage of the Yelp Checks In offer (a free cocktail when you check in) but I wish we wouldve. We took a quick look at the menu and knew what we wanted right away. We ordered the pulled pork bun (to share) and we each ordered a skirt steak pad thai (read: Noodles from the heavens above). I was impressed with the pullod pork buns, they were perfect. The mixture of pork, cucumber and soft bun really made it something special. However, the real star of the day was the skirt steak pad thai. The steak was deliciously tender, the noodles were cooked to perfection, and the sauce was simple amazing. I was really blown away by this dish. We ordered the cheesecake spring rolls to share, which was not the brightest idea because its delicious and there is no US in food. I cant wait to go back and try different things on their menu. This place is really a gem.

I've had this restaurant bookmarked on yelp for a few months now. Finally got to try it last night with a friend. We were not particularly famished, so we decided to order a few items off their happy hour menu. The first item to arrive was the tempura asparagus. It wasn't anything extraordinary. The tempura dipping sauce and cucumber cream were a nice added touch. The pulled pork buns didn't have enough flavor. I enjoyed it more after adding some sirracha to it. The Empanada wontons were tasty. But it's fried. How can it not be tasty? The final item we ordered was the roasted brussels sprout and cauliflower. It's in a soy sauce base and has crispy bacon! So good! But then again, I think soy sauce is the perfect condiment. For dessert - we got the cheese cake spring rolls a they were just ok. You could barely taste the cheesecake. The banana sauce was tasty though. Will definitely go back and try other items on the menu.

I'd heard so much about this spot that I was stoked to finally try it out! We arrived at 4pm, the time where the lunch menu is off limits and dinner begins. We opted for an al fresco experience in the midst of beautiful Mizner Park on a steamy Saturday afternoon, and waited a while for our server to greet us, yet it was worth the wait because he was friendly, informative, and really on top of his game. The starting line: we ordered two crafted cocktails from their drink menu. Lots to choose from, and I opted for the light side ginger-champagne basil drink, lite on any flavor whatsoever. We sampled two of their appetizers: the Wok-Charred Edamame and the Pan Seared Pork Gyoza. The edamame was flavorful and super tasty, with toasted sesame oil and garlic salt that really livened up these soy beans. I've never had them prepared like this .. finger-licking good! The pork gyoza (4 pieces) was tasty and served with a delicious sweet chili sauce. Next up: we tried the Beef Street Tacos. Two soft tortillas topped with cabbage, halved grape tomatos, red onion, and a wedge of lime, they were tasty and filling. The finish line: finally, our noodle dish: Chicken Pad Thai, which was disappointing. Bean sprouts, noodles, and a few slices of baked and sliced chicken with a piece of cilantro tossed in and a touch of an almost transparent sauce that added a tiny hint of sweetness, but was bland and tasteless. It was nice of the chef to split the plate for us so we didn't have to mess with it ourselves; however we struggled bite by bite to consume this dish. Though I wasn't too impressed, Kapow offers a pleasant, artsy atmosphere and menu that tempts. A spot to try if you're curious like we were and want to spend some time checking out all the loveliness Mizner has to offer.

I was visiting from NY and was very surprised to see a hipster-like establishment in Boca. They had some pretty good items on the menu and an even better drinks menu (I had the blueberry lavender mojito which was excellent). I was more impressed with their appetizers rather than my entree. We tried the Korean BBQ wings, pan fried gyoza, and pulled pork sticky bun which were all a win in my book! I had the ahi tuna noodle bowl, however I was not too impressed as the ahi tuna cooks in the broth and you lose the fresh taste of the fish that you would usually enjoy from ahi tuna. In terms of the ambiance and service, this place was very live and busy on Saturday. Definitely a good place to enjoy with friends or a casual date. I was there with my family and toddler, however they were very accommodating. The manager even stopped by our table to make sure we were ok, which was the bonus. But the real bonus was how quickly the food came out, which was crucial considering how hungry we were!

Went here with another couple to grab some food and a couple drinks. The waiter offered us short rib fried rice which we said yes immediately, however the waiter came back and said they only have 3 orders left and don't want to use it on fried rice. I'm sure you can see how one would take it. We were offended! The manager came over and she said "yes that's right we do not want to use the short ribs for the rice",(she was rude about it). Long story short chance of us going back are slim and for sure never recommending anyone there again.

here is the run down. I came for happy hour and my friend and I got the following appetizers: shrimp Dumplings: Good, just not a lot it's 3 pieces. for 4 dollars on happy hour is stretching a bit, if it's regular price it's about $ 7 Chicken skins: I'm not a fan but if you like pork rinds, I Mean I GUESS you would like it . Sweet Potato Au Gratin: this was very delicious, i wouldn't eat too much, but this one is a winner. Shishitou Peppers: I really enjoyed this, it was a unique flavor combination, and it's not spicy. Empanada Wontons: pretty good, not too memorable. Chai Lavender Creme Brulee: VERY GOOD. you can get that hint of lavender, and the creamy chai flavor. TO DIE FOR. I had the Twisted Moscato, California, and it was a bit more bitter than theSnap Dragon Riesling, California however they are pretty close in taste. the server was nice, and my only complaint is that there was a few flies in there that would annoy anyone, am I right? It's a nice place to grab some good bites and a drink.

I would highly recommend Kapow. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. From the hostess, to the bartenders, to the waitress, all top notch. The Brussels sprouts, tempura buffalo cauliflower, gyoza, shumai, the dumplings, the short ribs steamed buns, and the grilled tongue were all amazing. We have come for both lunch and dinner and will definitely be back.

After checking in with yelp, I received a free order of edamame, which was the best edamame I've ever eaten! We also tried the stuffed jalapenos. My fiance thought the filling was too creamy but I thought they were perfect! Fried on the outside and cream cheese on the inside, yum!!!! The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was because of my main entree, the bibimbap. Although I definitely enjoyed it, the portions were huge, and the plum sauce was delicious, I expected the rice to be crispy, since that's the key selling point of a bibimpap!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the taco. Went for the Yelp Food Fight Taco Edition. (Did not like that you have to pay for parking and that I couldn't get my taco to go) But it doesn't really matter because the flavor on that beast BLEW MY MIND! Every ingredient had a purpose, and wonderfully complimented the whole composition. And the meat... i mean, c'mon!!! So PERFECTLY SEASONED with the absolute PERFECT AMOUNT OF HEAT: spicy, how I like it, but only a couple tears, not full blown weeping... Although this taco was so good, i nearly wept with happiness. Will DEFINITELY be returning, along with a ton of friends!

Great service, great food, great Scott. KAPOW! Sorry, I felt like doing a Batman reference. The sautéed edamame with roasted garlic and braised Brussel sprouts and cauliflower are to die for as an app. Holy crap Robin! Beers are off the charts and service is killer. You need to make a trip up here to Mizner park to visit KAPOW for yourself. Tell them commissioner Gordon sent you. Salmon special was amazing as well as the skirt steak.

My first time here and as luck would have it for a UYE set up and organized by follower Yelper, Tim F. I must say it couldn't have been better and Kapow was a perfect venue for it. Not only was the service good, but so was the food which was totally unique. I was also delighted with the 10% Yelp check in discount, so if you are going here, don't forget to do a check in with Yelp. I started off by ordering a "Spicey Lover. " No! Though I wish it was one of what you might be thinking, it's in fact the name of one of their specialty cocktails which was a unique combination of muddled cilantro, lime juice, jalapeño sauce, agave nectar to which is then added Partida tequila, shaken to a cold chill, then served up in a classical martini styled glass. It was something I wanted to try though I didn't think I'd be very fond of it, but to my delight I really liked it. Matter of fact, so much so that I indulged myself by having a couple more of them. For my appetizer, which they call a small plate, I went for beet and peach tea cured salmon which came with loganberry, both a fried and a fresh basil, and yuzukosho (a fermented Japanese paste seasoning made from combining chili peppers, yuzu citrus and salt) in a gelee. Though tasty enough, I had a difficult time detecting any pronounced flavors and though that may have been the culinary intent of the dish, it seemed bland; sort of missing its mark. For my entrée I tried the seared scallops. The diver scallops, though perfectly seared, likewise came out bland, lacking in flavor and though they added green curry, lychee, bok choy along with Asian mushrooms, those additions seemed more of an afterthought than a part of the primary dish ingredients. If one is to attempt fusion dishes, the trick is not only a fusion of ingredients but also a fusion in the culinary style, not only the preparation, but of the cooking as well. I'd say they got the ingredients right, but neither the overall preparation nor the fusion of culinary styles. Basically Kapow is a fun place, somewhat catering to the thirty something crowd with unique cocktails and food offerings. I liked it. I'm a fan of it and certainly wouldn't hesitate to return though for me it's a tad bit shy of the coveted Yelp Five Stars.

Very hip and cool place. I love that it's so small it almost makes it more popular. Edamame, tempura asparagus, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts are all a must try, and if you feel adventurous the chicken skins! Usually come in for my break from work in mizner or afterwards, so I stick to the small plates. Large plates look delicious though. Great selection of craft beers and saké. Check in for a free saké bomb, edamame, and/or 10% off your check! Only complaint is lots of salt used in a few dishes. Other than that, bartenders are super friendly and the drinks are good and strong!! Had the chicken lettuce wraps today they were good!

Kapow has an awesome outdoor bar and great atmosphere in general. It has reasonable food and drink prices during happy hour which my wallet definitely appreciates. I've definitely had better here though which is why I was so sad that my last trip was so bad. The famous Vietnamese wings were the biggest disappointment because they were dry and didn't seem fresh at all. Not worth the calories. I wouldn't recommend it. The flavors from many of their other small plates seemed to fall flat. In the end, the charred edamame and broccoli cauliflower dishes were just too charred. Plus, there was an ungodly amount of soy sauce which spiked the sodium level to extreme proportions. I could've done without the pork bun. It was dry and basic in flavor. The best small plate was the pork dumplings which honestly tasted like the store bought versions I make at home. I won't go out of my way to come back.

It's an average place, the recipes are invented but just not executed properly. I like the look of the place but I am not sure I would go back due to the food being just ok.

I came here wanting to try something different, and boy did I get it. To start with, I will warn you that street parking is metered, so you have to pay. But you are in luck my friend because this little joint is located right outside the NW garage of Mizner Park which has free three hour parking. I have walked by Kapow! many times and every time I do I feel like I need to go in and try something. There's always someone outside or at the bar enjoying themselves, and the giant mural is so alluring. The kitchen is open so you can watch the chefs cook their delectable delights. The bar tender was all smiles and shared with us her favorite dishes and the most ordered items on the menu. I ordered the mushroom steamed bun, and the shumai. Jonathan ordered the banh mi with french fries. While we awaited our order, I browsed the drink menu and found multiple interesting cocktails that I would love to try (especially the large variety of gin cocktails). I was happily surprised and thrilled to see they offered craft beer as well. Side note: I believe every great establishment should serve craft beer. ;) Now, onto the food. The steamed bun is definitely a texture to get used to. It's just like the bar tender said, "it's like steamed wonder bread." That being said, I did enjoyed the bun but I thought the mushrooms were insipid. I was quite sad, and disappointed at how badly it was seasoned. There was no salt or pepper, therefor no flavor. The pickled cucumber was a nice touch, but I only got one per bun. :( The shumai were excellent, one of the best I've ever had. The shrimp were in whole pieces, really fresh, they were perfectly steamed and I loved putting siracha on them to give it a kick. The banh mi was so scrumptious. I stole two bites from Jonathan and I am absolutely going to order that when I come here again. The french fries reminded me of steak fries that are cut in large wedges. They were good but not great. I would love to try the sweet potato fries next time (I hear they're rolled in brown sugar, yum). After that was all said and done, Jonathan heard they had crème brûlée and he had to have it. But it wasn't any old vanilla or chocolate flavored, it was chai and lavender crème brûlée. When it came out they gave us some silly looking flat tipped spoons that we laughed at, and the dessert looked amazing. It was nicely caramelized on top and the flavor was outstanding, but the custard was sort of melting. When Jonathan finished up, he saw the genius of the flat tipped spoon - all the better to scoop up every last drop of goodness that's left in that little bowl.

Due to staff holiday party restaurant was closing at 8. Hostess and manager would not accept people on busiest week of the year. Poor business strategy. 100s of people wanted to eat there. Ordered take out food was mediocre because manager was rushing to push food out. Go somewhere else. Management here does not care.

Got to try the Game of Thrones "Fire and Blood" beer here today on tap which was pretty good. I love the atmosphere of this restaurant and the service has been great every time I've gone. I usually just get drinks and the pork gyoza when I go and their sweet chili sauce is incredible! Definitely a fun place for drinks and a good time with friends. In the heart of Mizner so people watching is also a plus.

Came here with a friend Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. We ordered the gyoza, vegetable spring rolls, and I had the bacon, eggs, and cheese roll off their brunch menu. They also have $15 bottomless mimosas which we enjoyed. For our entrees my friend had the chicken ramen and I had their Kapow Pad Thai with chicken. Everything we ordered was delicious and traditional with a twist. From presentation to taste it was all very good! We will definitely be back again.

This is sort of a cool, trendy place. But I had the pad Thai (just average) and my friend the ramen Mac and cheese and we were not impressed. My friend said the ramen Mac and cheese was literally like a cup-o-noodles ramen sprinkled with kraft cheese. Not very gourmet. The drinks are fine here and I've has some apps before. The edamame and Brussel sprouts were good. Actually it's the best edamame I've had. Next time I'll just come for apps and drinks. I'll skip the entrees.

I've been craving their food ever since getting back home to NY two weeks ago. We went there for lunch and got the pulled pork buns, korean slider buns and the bulgogi street tacos. Each were outstanding. Will definitely go again when back in Boca.

Hailing from the Northeast where Asian Fusion is abundant, I was surprised to find this gem in Boca Raton. The happy hour is hands down the best in town. $4 apps and half off drinks. SOLD! ALWAYS get the 1. Wok-charred Edamame 2. Roasted cauliflower & brussels sprouts (with BACON!) 3. Pan seared pork gyoza 4. Shrimp udon (with homemade kimchi slaw) If you love sriracha, their red bottles here are great! It is spicer than your regular sriracha so use carefully. They usually have a pretty great list of beers on tap. From Sapporo to Cigar City, I have never left disappointed with the food or the beer.

Been wanting to try Kapow for awhile since a few different people recommended it but haven't seemed to find the time. Luckily our friend (and local yelper) Tim set up a UYE here. The UYE was scheduled a little on the early side (had to come straight from work) but that turned out to be a reward because we made it before happy hour ended. Half price drinks during happy hour which made me "happy" and they have a happy hour menu, which has a lot more options than I had expected (all priced roughly 3 or 4 dollars). Off the happy hour menu, a few of use shared steamed shrimp dumplings, steamed vegetable dumplings, pan seared beer gyoza, kobe beef sliders and seasoned edamame. All the dishes received were delicious; but especially loved the seasoning on the edamame. I started off with a glass of red wine; nothing special. I couldn't help notice how good Greshka's drink was looking. She posted a picture of it so you can see why I was so interested yelp.com/user_local_phot… . I gave in and washed the rest of my appetizers down with the Dark 'N Stormy (ginger beer with rum and lime). For my main dish I enjoyed Shrimp Ramen Noodles. Never had a ramen noodle dish before and didn't really know what to expect. Glad I tried it though. It was a like yummy soup loaded with large shrimp, boiled egg, bok choy, mushrooms and other veggies. I couldn't finish but I came rather close. We were a party of roughly 15 people but the restaurant was kind of enough to let us all have separate checks and were so easy going about having such a large and diverse group. The staff was always checking to see if we need anything from drink refills to ordering more dishes and they stayed on top of removing the dirty plates right away. Please don't forget to check-in because they give 10 percent discount off your bill. Actually, they don't normally discount happy hour but with our group everyone was given 10 percent off everything and no one even asked for a discount.

The service was good, bartenders were on point and the food came out quick. If you are looking for a place with a good vibe, decent drinks and a good happy hour this is the place. The food is so so. The Korean street tacos are good, but not if you are expecting legit Korean bugolgi (which I wasn't.). I also ordered shrimp dumplings and wings. The dumplings (trying to be shu Mai) were a tad bland. The Vietnamese wings were very good. They looked charred, but it had the right amount of caramelization and were very juicy.

I try this one because I saw it is over 200 reviews, that mean is they should be very good. But when I try them, honestly their appetizers are more taste than their entrees meal. I ordered a grill beef tongue and garlic edmame is very taste great! Even now I still remember that taste in my mind! But the pad thai is very disappoint it! Very sweet and very wet! Just feel i am eating peanut butter mixed the noodles. And also their price show on the menu and when the bill came out is totally different, even thought just few dollars differents but still that is not right. the service is very nice and kind.

Love, love, love this place...From the moment you speak with the Hostess, Danielle, to the moment you have the GM Doug, come to the table, you know that you are in good hands. I have now been there at least 6 times and every time makes for a delicious meal!

Great inventive Asian fusion food with strong cocktails to match located in Mizner Park. Good looking waitresses didn't hurt either :) Most dishes were tapas size and fairly priced in the 10.00 dollar range. Truly fun place with great food! Can't wait to be back.

My husband and i love coming here for happy hour. They have a great food menu and drink specials. There are usually no seats available at the outside bar so we sit in the inside portion. The happy hour specials: $4 beers and apps. The edamame and rolls are awesome. The edamame... they flash fry with some sauce and it's great. Just splash some soy sauce and its amazing. Moving along to the main menu, we love the ramen noddles. I personally enjoy the chicken but my husband likes the steak. I've also had the chicken fried rice. It's always fresh. These is a great local hangout and its always busy. The staff is friendly and very attentive.

Went with Kapow for a Sunday brunch on the girlfriends birthday. Sat at the bar since it was the only thing available inside. Super hot out. We started of with some bottomless mimosas, great deal, $15 compared to $8 for a single. Our bartender Abram was great! Didn't let a single mimosa get less than half full. We also ordered the bacon, egg, and smoked Gouda spring rolls. Tremendous! For the main I went with the Benedict Arnold. Toasted challah bread with pulled pork, poached egg, and house made hollandaise sauce. The girlfriend decided on the skirt steak & eggs hash. Soy marinated skirt steak, fried potatoes, peppers and onion with two fried eggs. Phenomenal! EVERYTHING was fantastic. One of our new favorite brunch spots.

I've always heard the hype about this place and how everyone loves it, so it almost pains me to give it a low rating. Let's start with the good: Location is nice Outdoor seating option Happy hour appetizers $4 ea BBQ bun was the best And now the disappointments: Shrimp dumplings were falling apart, and they had no real flavor Beef buns were more like burger patties, but maybe that was my own misconception when ordering. Sweet potato au gratin came out spicy, when it doesn't say so on the menu. Tacos were also spicy, and again no mention on the menu. (I wouldn't have ordered it if they had said so.) Kapow just didn't live up to the hype for me, and I walked away disappointed.

I made the commute up to Kapow for Patty's Brunch UYE and was glad I did! Besides socializing with fellow yelpers, we had the pleasure of running into a couple of old school Yelp vets, snacking and boozing on delicious Asian fusion food. For starters, unlike a lot of Miami restaurants, their unlimited mimosa actually had bubbly. Even I got a little bit of a kick from it! Our waitresses Mary and Anna were awesome in allowing our crowd to pay on separate checks, posing for pictures and having a great sense of humor. The pulled pork on my Eggs Benedict was tender, and the flavors played nicely with the hollandaise sauce. Everything was really flavorful, and the challah bread was a nice change from the usual english muffin. Next up was my other brunch staple - which I ended up sharing with Mr. Healthy Eating Michael C. - of Captain Crunch crusted French Toast infused with Captain Morgan brunch. Very sweet and perfect! Thank you again Patty and Chris for organizing this fun Sunday!

What can I say? A Sunday Funday brunch pretty much sums it up. This past weekend's UYE was filled with awesome Yelpers and a fabulous time had by all. The restaurant were able to accommodate our group to sit together. We had to sit outside due to the number of people, but all of us braved the heat while sipping on bottomless mimosas, taking advantage of the Bloody Mary bar, and eating some delicious food. The brunch menu has a few different options to choose from and I went for the Benedict Arnold. It was two toasted challahs topped with pulled pork, poached eggs, and house made hollandaise sauce. It was ridiculously scrumptious. If I didn't have the mimosas flowing through me, I probably would have got the same dish to go. I took a bite of the Captain Crunch french toast and it was good too. The Kapow Smash looked amazing as well and it was raved by several people that had it for their meal. The waitresses did an outstanding job with taking care of us. They didn't give us any issues with everyone being on their own tabs and the tables were kept clean after we were finished with our food. The glasses were always full and we were welcome to stay around the bar area or go inside after we were done. Thanks to everyone again that came out to make this UYE so much fun :)

Decided to try a new Asian Fusion place and yelped this little AWESOME place. Nestled in Mizner, a total must go! I LOVED EVERYTHING WE ORDERED! (Caps needed for that statement!) I had the steamed bun pulled pork - wow. The street tacos - double wow! The roasted cauliflower and brussels sprout - cooked to perfection. The garlic brown rice - haaaaaapy girl! I'll definitely return.

Kapow is in the middle of Mizner Park so that already adds to the ambience. There are plenty of outside tables and this is where I normally chose to sit. On this occasion I sat outside with a friend and the most friendly waitress attended to our every need. I ordered the veggie bowl with rice which is made in a black metal pot and is oh so amazing. The waitress then asked if I was Vegan to which I said yes and she said they have a new Vegan stir fried rice dish that was amazing. However, she said it wasn't available yet and I happened to throw in that I was an elite yelper and she managed to get me a special appetizer sized portion. Let me tell you, it was amazing and thrilled they are creating in several new Vegan things for the menu. Everything they brought out was yummy, I will go again for sure! For sure, one of the best waitresses I've seen... she was all smiles and totally bubbly.

What can can I say that every yelper within 50 miles has said already. Food? Yes, some of the best Asian fusion you will EVER try. How good? They won the huge Yelp contest for best taco. And I'm pretty sure their taco isn't even their best course! Staff? I have been here plenty and they really do go above and beyond. Last month I was having trouble getting around as I was in a sling and the bartender would personally bring my apps and drinks out to me(it was St. Patrick's day, big deal) Ambiance? With all the previous said, ambiance and atmosphere is still probably the main reason many people come here. It fun, festive and tough to match. Everyone seems to be having a roaring good time and the Kung Fu and Asian FX movies they play on the TV's all day provide crazy visuals. Come down thirty for a happy hour hook up. And come hungry because from the dumplings to the bibimbap you can go wrong with this fair!

One of my new favorite places in Mizner Park. They are open late which is a bonus! During our late night visit, the friendly waiter told us it was happy hour and we received half off our sake. The Shoyu Marinated steak is so tender. Paired with mushrooms and mashed potatoes, its definitely a hit and worth the $22. I recommend this dish to every steak lover. I also enjoy their buns as they use the traditional open bun that's used in Peking duck. Its lighter than the dough used with dimsum pork buns. We ordered the short rib bun - really tasty. The short rib looks more like pulled pork. The atmosphere can be loud and the cushion couches tend to sink in. But other than that I really enjoy dining in here!

They certainly KAPOWED me with their ambiance and charm of the place. Very very unique! Really love the Asian graphic painting on the wall that went with beautiful wood tables and humble Asian charm. They nailed it. Trendy restaurant. The layout is comparable to Pei Wei in a sense that this restaurant serves Asian food while you can see your cooks stir up the food in woks. My first time here for a graduation of a family friend with a party of 9. Got seated. Service was pretty good but I didn't think it was stellar though. Sometimes it took a while to refill our glasses. Now the real deal, the FOOD. I had a few issues. Some of the stuff we ordered were pork buns $7.5 (set of 2), steamed shrimp dumplings (set of 3) $7, marinated steak $22, kapow signature pad Thai $16, chicken fried rice $13, crispy beef $16 and dessert fried cheesecake sticks. My issue? Personally I disagree on the price and their Portion size. They are more of one person plates but maybe that's their style. Some of the quality of their food is questionable with their price as well. One that I really disliked was the fried rice. At first I thought maybe it was just a bad batch, then when we ordered two more, oh heck no. I mean no exaggeration, the rice was soaked in soy sauce. Very strong. Pad Thai was just a tid bit spicier then I thought. What's delicious here? That marinated steak is heavenly. Heavenly taste but not heavenly portioned. Pork buns were a hit but too small for the price. The crispy beef with citrus influence was amazing as well. But my favorite? Dessert!!!! Even though they were so thin, they tasted amazing with the sauces served. I think it was caramel, hazelnut and butterscotch. Not sure. Probably one of my fave dessert. Overall, glad I tried this place. Don't think I would be a frequent customer though. 3.8 out of 5 stars.

Honestly I had high expectations of this place. But was very disappointed. The food was ok. The name doesn't lie you get a kapow of salt or a kapow of nothing. There no in between. Ordered the Korean BBQ tacos and was way to sweet. Ordered ramen and the broth was wayy to salty. Not to add we had maybe 5-7 friends with us and by friends I mean flies. And they were not welcomed. I sat inside. If I wanted the hotness and mucky fly feeling I would've sat outside. The art work on the wall however is very beautiful. The staff was distracted and slow. A whole bunch of young girls that were more interested in talking to one another then paying attention to the actual table. It was me and two other friends on a hour lunch break. Which is normal in mizner around 12-2 they know it's lunch hours, and I never really have a hassle anywhere. Here however they really kapowed the slowness. I was waiting for the waitress Anna to come with the check for about 15-20 min before we decided to flag down another waitress who just put out check next to the register until she saw Anna. Was very disappointed and will probably never come back. The food looks promising but food also needs the flavor behind it and sadly I didn't get that here.

Wouldn't have found out about "Kick Ass Kapow" & Mizner Park where it is located without the Yelp Spring Break Check in Bonus. 25% off made our lunch an even better deal than it was already. Checking out Kapow, and you will find asian fusion items like Ramen, Buns, Pad Thai, lettuce Wraps, bahn mi's, fried rice, Bibimbap, & Udon. As you can tell asian type foods from different countries. From most favorite to least fave: Lettuce Wraps Empanada Won Tons Sweet hoisin short rib bun Roasted Cauliflower & Brussel Sprouts w Huge Bacon Bits Korean Slider Bun There is a full bar, and on Sundays they have all you can drink mimosas, and a Make Your Own Bloody Mary Bar. This place had a great vibe, nice, and relaxed, and also has a DJ. There's a super shaded patio that is dog friendly. All in all, a 5 star experience from the food, the atmosphere, it being dog friendly, fun laid back vibe, and the cool artistic mural inside. I love artsy! I will for sure be back.

So glad to have found this place! Had the Bulgogi Tacos, Korean Sliders, Broccoli and Cauliflower and my husband had the Crispy Beef. Food was awesome. tacos are super spicy (couldn't finish them). The Crispy Beef was awesome and Korean sliders were my favorite. Service was okay. Our server, Jerome, was really busy talking to girls and petting dogs and not washing his hands afterwards (ewww), so the service was a bit slow. My husband had to actually give him our payment while he was sitting at a table. All the other servers were super nice and attentive. I will definitely be back!!

Was there this past Sunday night and wasn't too impressed with the service. My guest and I sat outside, took around 10-15 min for us to get greeted only because the hostess noticed no one came over to us. When it was time for our entrees to come out, mine came out first and it took another 15-20 min for my guests to come out! Another server passed by and we told her we were waiting on the other entree to come out and it had been 15 minutes and she said oh it will come out soon and acted like that was normal! The server did apologize and said the kitchen staff was new but still this is such an easy problem that could have been avoided had our server checked on us.

Zoinks! Man that was good. Checked out this spot on a Sunday afternoon after a day of shopping with the Mrs. I was ready for a cold beer, some tasty small plates and a relaxing time. Bull's eye on all three. Fun ambiance, attentive bartender (we sat at the bar), and delicious small plates. We even enjoyed our conversations with the various people that sat next to us at the bar. Ordering was tough because everything on the menu looked good. In fact we only made a small dent on the short list of things we wanted to try so a second visit is in order. We began with the Vietnamese Wings, a dish we fist discovered at S3 in Ft. Lauderdale which sadly is no longer on the menu there, but it is here! These were outstanding. Next were the shishito peppers. My wife loved them but I found them good-not-great because I found the cheese stuffing distracting from the light zing of the pepper itself. Still, I'm not deducting points because I knew what I was getting into and they actually were pretty good. Next we tried the Sweet Hoisin Short Ribs Steamed Bun. Again quite good. We finished with the Roasted Cauliflower & Brussels Sprouts. MMMMmmmmm. As good as promised. If you enjoy fun & yummy Kapow! is the place for you. Leave us a place at the bar though.

KAPOW is one of those places that is constant in their food and service for us. We have dined at the bar, inside their dining room, and most recently on the patio. None of the times of which we have received less than great service! With our most recent visit Carlin couldn't have been more on top of her game. She was extremely friendly and made our dining experience enjoyable! We wanted to make it during the brunch on Sunday which ends at 3pm sharp (Bloody Mary Bar & Mimosas stop being served). Arriving only with a little over an hour left I contemplated if Bottomless Mimosas were the way to go. After talking with Carlin I decided that it wouldn't be the best option and to just order a beer. After putting in our drink order she comes back to our table to let me know they were out of the beer I ordered.... Wellllll fine.. Twist my arm I will go with the Unlimited Mimosas and make it worth the price; upgrading my glass to a big boy and Carlin kept it FULL! My husband went with the Bloody Mary Bar and both of us thought our drinks were superior to other brunch spots! ~The Bloody Mary Bar consists of ordering your Bloody Mary which is a glass of ice and a shot glass (seems a bit more than a shot) of vodka then going up to their bar which is set up with tons of condiments, hot sauces, and garnishes for you to build your perfect one of a kind Bloody Mary; all for $5! Before deciding to come here for brunch we saw that they had Bacon & Jalapeño Rangoon's so we knew that was what we wanted to start off with. Again, they were out of those as well. Carlin was very apologetic for once again being out of a item we ordered. A bit bummed but not her fault we ended up ordering the Pulled Pork Buns and Banh Mi Vietnamese Baguette to split! The Pulled Pork Buns we have had before during their Happy Hour and loved so we had to order them again. This time they arrived not as fresh tasting as before but still pretty flavorful. Add some of the sauces that are on the table to boost the flavor! The Banh Mi was huge and I am so glad we decided to split it. The baguette was very fresh, crispy/soft at the same time, filled full of pork, cilantro, jalapeños, and pickled carrots! Definitely a good decision! This place is always packed and there is a good reason why. Being in the middle of Mizner Park there is parking throughout but also FREE parking garages. We usually park in one of the garages which is all central to the restaurants and shops! *Brunch Tip~ You can ask for a larger glass when getting Unlimited Mimosas! :)

Fabulous food, great service, I love this place. The food is nice and spicy, very unusual for south Florida. I had a great time. Their drinks are excellent. Everything is reasonably priced. I'll be coming back with my wife soon. We are big fans of Kapow.

This was the first time that we are visiting this Resturant. Let me start with the staff, they are amazing. Once we approach the desk and received the table and a server named Anna( Amazing) she came and introduced and took our drinks. Gave us some time to look over the menu. Everything on the menu looks good. We ordered the Steam Buns and Pad Thai with beef. Steam buns was amazing. And the Pad Thai, I don't know how they tenderized the meat. It's melt in the mouth. Overall the experience was amazing. I recommend this place if you all are in the Boca Area. AND Ladies, Deserts are awesome also

I reserve my 5 star rating for out of this world places. You can only eat this at this place kind of thing. Or such dining perfection and experience is only at this place. With great value. I almost gave kapow that. The menu is unique mixed with your regular names. But once you taste it you know you are getting plates that only kapow can serve. The portions are generous. For me in terms of value that counts! The staff everybody seems happy to be working there. The hostess young girl was excited to welcome me. My server Bebe/Bibi went out of her way to explain and make sure I enjoyed my meal from a to z. Even moustache man, might be a manager made sure every round he made he checked o tables to make sure all patrons were enjoying their meal. Bartender was having a blast tending to patrons eating at the bar. All in all the staff is superb here. The plates has all mix of flavors from spicy to sweet from small to big for sharing. Even the small plates can be shared and you can order and taste more plates. You will not be short on drinks either. Spirits beers sodas they have them. The place is clean and fresh with interesting decor inside. And outside you enjoy the weather and outdoor dining. There were times when it got a bit warm....but inside is open windows so not sure AC can keep it all cool all the time. It is Florida after all. :) I will be back many times, there are many plates I need to try in such joyous ambiance. Keep it up! :)

This place was pretty good. The chicken wings were delicious. Place is a little small and the service a little slow, even when the place was empty for a late lunch.

Been meaning to put down my thoughts on Kapow for a while but have been a reader of yelp, not reviewer. Changed that today. So, here's my quick take on Kapow- You won't find better food, service or value in Palm Beach County. 1. The food- it's flat awesome. Don't miss the street tacos or the skirt steak or the short rib shumai. In addition to the regular weekday menu, the Brunch is ridiculous with plenty of options to explore. 2. The people- from the hostess to the servers to the great bartenders, always welcoming and happy to see you. 3. Value- I dare you to find a better value for the quality of food and setting in Palm Beach County. Craft cocktails, unique and unparalleled food in a fun and vibrant setting. Do yourself a favor and get to Kapow ASAP.

I went to Kapow two times. First time so-so, second time not so much... I read a lot of good reviews about Kapow so I was excited to experience their food at first. My husband and I went for lunch on a weekday around 130 and it was pretty packed. We had bibimbap and chicken lettuce wrap. Bibimbap: I understand it is supposed to be Asian fusion, but because I am Korean myself, the bibimbap tasted dull and not authentic (not even close to the original Korean bibimbap). They just gave a tiny portion of rice, which most of the rice was burnt on the side.. it is supposed to be a little crispy because of the stone bowl I know... but I mean, it was BURNT BURNT! The toppings were okay though. But no sesame oil, which is the most important ingredient for bibimbap..... can't believe how it can be $12. Chicken lettuce wrap: came with little pieces of teriyaki chicken, maybe 5 small pieces of romaine lettuce, mixed carrots, and sprouts. It wasn't bad, but the quality of lettuce wasn't impressive. They gave me the inner side of the lettuce which were small and stiff. Again, was not too impressed. The service: the server was nice. The second time I went there, I had the kapow smash for brunch. The smash came with 2 pieces of hard baguette, 2 pieces of pancakes made of potatoes and cheese cream, and eggs. The pancakes were too cheese creamy to my taste. Lots of cream cheese... it wasn't worth $10 at all. This time the service wasn't so good. The girl wasn't really checking on me. I don't know if it was because I was there by myself..? Overall, I think this place is way overrated. Good location and good vibes, but the food didn't satisfy me. Don't think I will go back :(

Oh Kapow, how appropriate the name is for this place. Every bite kicks u in the mouth with flavor in the best way. Let's start off with the service because Brendan was one of the most helpful waiters I've ever had, all the while not being too intrusive to our date. Even recommended one of the best ice creams I've ever tasted for dessert. He is a great asset to the place. To begin our dinner we of course ordered drinks. I had the Havana drink that was light and refreshing, but still enough alcohol and other mixers to be balanced and not taste like a juice box. My wife had the sangria, which was tasty and perfect for her being that it was on the sweeter side. For a starter we enjoyed the edamame by strong recommendation. It is wok fried with soy sauce and garlic; so simple yet such perfect flavoring. For our main dish, I ordered the chicken fried rice and she ordered the skirt steak with truffle mashed potatoes. The chicken fried rice was good, I added siracha sauce because the rice felt like it needed something more. The chicken was cooked perfectly to a crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The teriyaki glaze was a nice touch, and overall the dish was pretty good. Now, on to the highlight of the dinner, the skirt steak and mashed potato dish. I have never had a dish with so many flavors going on at one time that worked so beautifully well. The steak was cooked to perfection, we had it at a medium temperature as advised. The mashed potatoes were covered with mushrooms and crisp fried red onions, then finished with some kind of glaze that was dynamite. Every bite was a savory bliss. A must try for all. The bottom line, go to Kapow. It definitely is worthy of every bit of those five stars.

This was the first time i had ever been to Kapow. My buddy Vaughan owns the place. We worked together years ago in the 90's at heaven an club boca. upon entering the restaurant..I felt like i was back in heaven nigh clubs Boca Rock n Sushi..from the huge mural on the wall to the ton ka guy soup and pad thai on the menu (i didn't not try either of those but next time i will they looked good..the guy next to me had the pad thai). We were on time for our reservation and were seated inside as I requested, I thought opting for inside would have been nice and cool because of the air conditioning but it really wasn't. There were waves of heat followed by a brief bit of cool air...I was uncomfortable to be honest...number two the place was so dim that my glasses(which i am so vein even thinking of putting them on I had no other choice and that didn't even really help to be honest ..I had to use the light on my cell phone to read the small writing on the menu. Getting past that Our waitress came over and got our drink order(I didnt get her name ..) I had the blueberry mojito and paula g had a glass of zin wine. My mojito was a little weak and i sipped it down rather quickly (I saw later on their chalk board that they had Sake..I would have ordered that had i seen it first..I then ordered a stella (because the mojito was a little weak). The noise from time to time was a little over bearing and I could hardly hear shadow of the funks mom paula over the roar of the crowd..but its not an intimate place its a fun trendy hip joint...We started with two appetizers the fried chicken skin(just the other day someone said don't ever eat chicken skin if you want to lose weight..oh well there went my diet again..LOL) and stuffed peppers that were deep fried and had cream cheese and a fish spread in them. The two appetizers were OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!! the best 2 appetizers EVER!! On to our meals..We both ordered the shoyu marinated skirt steak which was their #SOS Special. It was very very tender,,,and had a truffle oil drizzled on top (i didn't care for that to be honest) and the meat sat upon mashed potatoes with caramelized mushrooms and crunchy fried onions on top.We both left with doggie bags the portion was that big. the people sitting next to us after seeing our order of the shoyu skirt steak had to order it too..We didnt choose a dessert and decided to get coffee next door. As I stated I want to come back to try the ton ka guy soup and the pad thai. I will..and hopefully vaughan will not be in costa having a rad time...and there at the restaurant to say hi! (Im just jealous i wasnt in cosa rica vaughan). I loved the restaurant ..i felt transported back to 1991 with the decor and menu and I really had a nice good meal out on a saturday night with my best friend paula g(ive brought her to several events with me). 5 stars from me( i didnt take any stars off for the 3 things I wasnt thrilled about because the place is clean fun hip trendy and the food was AMAZING...seriously..it was!! great job vaughan!!! love your place!!!!

Good service, nice crowd, and solid food selection. The location allows you to eat/ drink and then move on to local shops or any random event that are going on in Mizner. This place also does unlimited mimosas on Sundays, which I recommend.

Best place for ramen in south Florida. Also has amazing cocktails and great craft beer selection. Good service and nice to sit outside when it's cool. Buns are also tasty and sometimes on special so super cheap.

We setup a birthday dinner for a friend last night. We had a table for 10. It was reserved and waiting for our 8:30 reservation. Service was very attentive. The appetizers are the best items on the menu. And the bar has an extensive menu of craft cocktails. I will say the kitchen was sloppy - not completing dishes well last night. Were they lazy in the kitchen, under crisping the wings and serving a couple cold skirt not well thought out skirt steak dishes ? My friends were not to happy with the Udon bowls as well. The dishes people enjoyed, the shrimp shumai, the charred edamame, when the wings were crispy - they were excellent. The crispy beef was a good entree. My buddy enjoyed the Beef Tongue appetizer - it wasn't my favorite. Overall we had a fun evening, the atmosphere was fun and 4 star - the food dragged this review down.

I absolutely love Kapow especially on a Tuesday. They do there own spin on taco Tuesday and have the tacos and steamed buns for 1.00 and 2.00. If you go before 7 they have a 4 dollar menu! My fav is the SHORT RIB SHUMAI. It's on the 4 dollar menu and I could seriously order two rounds!! Great fun place small with mostly outside seating, but a great atmosphere with great cocktail and beer choices. I hear they have phenomenal Sunday brunch I have never been but I will sure soon try it. Kapow is a must go!! Enjoy !

We came today to take on the Food Fight Taco Challenge. As soon as we sat down on the bar, we went straight for those $1.00 tacos. The tacos were a bit different than what was described on the Event page because our tacos came with bacon instead of Korean Bulgogi beef. But the rest of the ingredients like cabbage, red unions and grape tomato were all there. After we tried the tacos and ordered a few drinks, we decided go with some of the dishes I tried at the Culture Clash event. I remembered I loved their Vietnamese Chicken so we started with that first. The skin of the chicken was very crispy and the meat was not dry at all. And I particularly like the little spicy kick with the sauce. Next was the tuna poke and it tasted pretty good. And finally we ordered a Korean dish steak Bibimbap. Its a traditional Korean dish with warm white rice. Topped with seasoned vegetable and some steak. It also comes with a chili pepper paste you can mix the beef, vegetable and rice with it in the pot. However, traditionally, it supposed to come with an egg on top. Overall, the food was pretty good. The service was excellent. Food came fairly quickly for a busy lunch hour. Even though Boca is a bit far for us, but I think we are coming back again soon.

Love this place and I've only been here twice! I just came on a Tuesday and will definitely come again on a Tuesday. They have $1 sticky buns and $2 street tacos!! We got the 3 different kinds of sticky buns (pulled pork, mushroom and Korean beef slider). All the sticky buns were so delicious and the street tacos were great too just a little spicy though for me. I also saw that they have Sunday brunch with a $5 Bloody Mary bar! What?! I will definitely need to check that out!

The BEST happy hour in Boca! Winds are four dollars a glass, as are so many amazing and yummy foods! The roasted brussels sprouts and cauliflower were so good as were the steamed shrimp dumplings, Adam lame to Waze, and the spicy street tacos! Super fun open air spot right in the middle of the swankiest place in the city!

I have been coming to Kapow since it opened. I frequented there when I was in college and even now I am not a Boca local, I still make the drive there for a taste of their magic. I have tried just about everything on the menu and have concluded my favorites. The best deal is happy hour where the limited menu is $4 small plates, especially because my two favorites area on it - the steak tacos and the Korean BBQ buns! Holy Moley they are so freaking delish! The tacos are a total mindfk, they are sweet and meaty with spicy mayo asian flare, did I mention they are tacos? Crazy! Secondly the buns, soft doey buns with sweet Korean style pulled pork, topped with cucumber and scallions - to die for, I usually inhale them and need more. The benefit of Kapow is the tapas style of the menu, it enables you to be adventurous and try something different every time. Cocktails are a little steep, but my favorite is the kiwi kaiporoska, a twist on the Brazilian cocktail but equally as delicious. I appreciate that they have local beer and cider on tap, and they have drink specials during happy hour too to complete the deal.

Kapow is my absolute go to option for eating out. Whether it's lunch, dinner, or even brunch. Service is impeccable, the atmosphere is second to none, but the food (quality, portion, and price) are what make this place unbeatable. You can actually leave feeling full for less than $20 at an east Boca restaurant. Chicken fried rice is a monster plate for just $13. The skirt steak is the best dish in east Boca... $22.. Anywhere else that's a $40 meal. Every form of dumpling they serve.. You should just order two of each. Pork, crazy.. The fried short rib dumplings (shoumai?) will make you consider never eating anywhere else ever again... The restaurant is best in boca.

I came here for Sunday brunch last weekend. It was pretty packed. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It's not your usual brunch menu and it is limited but the food was great. Waiters come by and repeatedly refill your mimosas without being flagged down. The next time I'm in Boca I'll be here to try dinner.

Really rude staff, if they better their staff the place would be much more Packed like the other restaurants in Mizner Park.

This place is a "foodie's" dream! Located in Mizner Park - this place is live, service is outstanding, food will blow your tastebuds! Their bar is great too! A variety of great spirits! I very much enjoyed their Lychee martini and my hubby ordered Rose Bud small batch whiskey (which he had never tried, and enjoyed so much he purchased a bottle the very next day). Their award winning tacos are EXACTLY that! Their stuffed peppers are the perfect combo of sweet and spice, and the cauliflower & Brussels sprouts were out of this world! The braised short rib lo-mein was a party in our mouths!! Both the hubby and I agree that it is our new favorite spot! So much so, we returned on Sunday to try out their Sunday Brunch! Such a cool, happening place! RESERVATIONS are highly suggested! We scored a couple seats at the bar for brunch - and that was fun too!!

My Pad Thai was mediocre, but when I sampled everything else my friends ordered it blew my mind. I think the Pad Thai was half bean sprouts, super disappointing in flavor and size of actual noodles.

Finally a day out in Boca. I used to live in Boca, many moons ago and hardly get back up there, however when Steven C. decided he just had to see Godzilla in theaters I figured we'd take the drive up to the iPic and also check out some of Boca's best food options. Side note: Godzilla wasn't worth the drive in my opinion! Ok back to Kapow. I made reservations knowing that this place is tiny! And yes, I used Yelp's new SeatMe reservation system. As it so happened the place was empty when we arrived at lunchtime on Memorial Day, I guess everyone was at the beach, so reservations weren't necessary on this very occasion. SERVICE The hostess was friendly enough and service wasn't an issue. Water were refilled quickly etc and our server was able to make recommendations when something we wanted (the chicken skins) weren't available. The hostess didn't bother to thank us or say bye when we walked out which irked me just a little, but that's fine. DRINKS I wasn't sure if I was in a drinking mood or not, but the champagne/ginger/grapefruit concoction was calling my name. It was quite tasty and hit the spot. Steven C. ordered the Spice Lover, ok I may be making up the name, but it was called something like that. Spicy, cucumber, cilantro etc in a martini glass. Nice to sip on but I'm glad it wasn't mine. FOOD As usual we went a little bit overboard. The motto we live by is "but what if we never come back?" which then pushes us to try the whole menu. *Bolgogi Tacos - ok blonde moment - these were labelled tacos yet were on the bun section of the menu so I still believed these would be buns...they are not lol. I would have preferred the bun but these were still amazing. Top 2 of the meal for me. *Tuna Poke - probably the best of our meal. Great presentation, flavor, amount of chips and loved the cucumber sauce. *The Shishitou Peppers - my second time having these shishitou peppers in life. They are slowing becoming one of my favorite foods. *The Shrimp Tempura - recommended by the server to replace our chicken skins.... yeah it's nothing special. *The Brussel Sprouts and Cauliflower - something about the sauce was too tangy or salty for me. Not bad, but not great. All in all I think Kapow is a solid place for dining in Mizner. I wouldn't come out of my way to return, but if I was grabbing a movie in the area again I'd definitely put it at the top of my list, plus I still need my buns! Parking was a breeze for us in the garage, not sure how crazy it gets on weekends etc. A lot of people have mentioned the desserts in their reviews so I feel a little disappointed in myself that we didn't try any... Also worth mentioning is that the Yelp check-in offer is for 10% off the check. My food coma made me forget to use mine (bad yelper)!

WTF. What is worth the good reviews? I love Asian food and noodle bowls but this was the worse Asian noodle or whatever they think they are serving that I ever had. The wings were gamey and very fatty, they had an odd flavor, we sent them back. The chicken Ramen was not even worthy of a mall food court. The chicken seemed very low grade, very fatty and the broth was awful, it tasted like they just threw in very salty soy sauce. I love Ramen bowls and the broth is a big part of the flavor. The Ramen bowl at KAPOW Is mostly a bottle of soy sauce. Also it is worth noting the service was slow an inattentive. I wrote this just waiting to see our server again and it was slow, still no sign of her. Will never go back. As soon as I can get out of here I'm going to go get lunch someplace else. The drinks are good there. Maybe that is the trick to the good reviews. Get a few drinks and it taste better?
